I love the money which this printer saves me on ink purchases.
4 July 2013
Summary: I needed this non functional all in one printer for parts to repair mine which became damaged. The Brother MFC-240C which I have is a fantastic machine that has saved me greatly on ink costs because it uses ink tanks instead of having to replace the print head cartridge which was necessary until I discovered the Brother printer.
This is a good printer, but don't buy it from the seller I bought it from.

Summary: I purchase one exactly the same model printer years before, and have been using it for years. I was very happy with it. This is an excellent printer, and that's why I purchase the 2nd one from this seller. However, this seller sold me a semi defective machine. Useless for almost a year, I was not able to use it as a regular printer, because it doesn't response the print job, submitted print job didn't print even after I installed the software.
Old model inkjet printer with cheap replacement ink cartridges
8 January 2013
Summary: In 2013, this is by now an "old", nearly obsolescent inkjet printer. It's been superseded by newer, better and faster machines with wireless connectivity. Nonetheless it's still a good value because the replacement ink cartridges are cheap and readily available.
Hard to find new but if you find a quality used one, Buy Immediately!

Summary: Bought this printer after extensive research as to which printer would, 1st not trick you into thinking your cartridge is empty when it's not, then hold you ransom till you replaced ALL the cartridges. 2nd was operating cost, this printer is extremely cheap to operate and if you buy a netgear printserver you can make this printer completely networked. Except for network scanning is not supported.
Summary: Have this model for quite some time, and this machine is good for one thing and one thing only- it will rob every penny you have until you get rid of this junk. It has absolutely no VALUE!!! First of all, all the ink cartridges keep running out without even using it. I can understand if the inks ran out for considerable amount of usage, and the money spent on replacing those cartridge can be justified somehow. But that's not the case.
Summary: The only thing it does reliably is use up ink -- very expensive ink. Even when I'm not doing any printing, the machine goes through "self-cleaning" routines in order to use up more ink. What with the inflated price of cartridges, I calculate I'm spending about $2.75 per copy.
Summary: Horrible product, expensive ink and low quality prints. I will never buy another Brother product again. I don't really even want to waste my time writing the rest of this review because it is such a piece of garbage. There, now I have 20 words.
Summary: oh my, where do I start, have had this awful all in one for 4 years and I HATE IT. Paper jams galore, sucks in final sheet and then jams it, cant get out paper easily Runs out of inks between uses (approx 5 pages then tells me ink is out) Now will only print black and white despite having all new cartridges Scanning is a joke as chews up more than 3 sheets Faxing, well never fax an original or you could end up with shreds DONT BUY IT !!!
