Excerpt: The paper sensor says out of paper about 5 times a day and there is plenty of paper. Duplex on this machine means you can take 2 one sided pages and create a one page document front and back. To me duplex means you take a 2 sided document and make another copy of the 2 sided document on 1 page. It is going back to the store.
Excerpt: unhappy with this purchase. They did not have one in the store for me to see, ordered on the recommendation of the Salesperson. I wanted a wireless printer. this one does not appear to be wireless. Wasted two hours to day trying to get it to print. Finally gave up and set aside until I have time to deal with it. I need a reliable wireless printer for my office.
Excerpt: 1. Cannot read LCD display when standing at copier when copier is at height where convenient to use. I had to move back from copier to read the LCD. 2. Menus are confusing and complicated to scroll through. (Whatever happened to buttons?} 3. Copier body is black. Guides around glass to show where to place original are black and cannot be easily seen. I had to give it one star...I would prefer to give it none. I returned the machine.
Excerpt: Purchased this a year ago and it has plowed through toner. Now the toner light came on and after only a few copies (less then 25)the light comes on again. No more Brother Products for this business and/or home office.
Summary: My wife and I purchased this printer 6 months ago because it was great for our budget, it wasn't too large and offered easy to use scanning software. The printer worked great for the first 3 months. The economy cartridge that it came with ran out and I purchased a "brother" replacement cartridge. About a month later, I started running into consistent jamming issues.
Summary: I bought this about 10 months ago, using it at home as a light duty, second printer/copier. Recently, it began to jam paper in the tray EACH AND EVERY TIME I print or copy - effectively making this machine unusable. I don't know what to do with this piece of junk. The machine is made of cheap and thin plastics and I think that's why there's durability and reliability issues with paper handling, and the machine overall.
Hate it! Using it mostly for copying - a little printing - haven't bothered to scan

Summary: I bought this printer after comparing the cost of toner cartridges and the number of pages you should get from one cartridge. I was willing to spend a little more for the printer in order to save money on printing in the long run. This printer starts saying it is low on toner within days of installing a new cartridge. I'm on the 4th cartridge, and I don't replace it until it refuses to print unless changed.
The printer may be good but customer service is the worst!

Summary: I have never felt compelled to write a review until now. The machine may be great, I would not know. The power cord was missing when I received the printer. I contacted Brother and was told that I must purchase the cord even though it was their error. There was absolutely no attempt via email or phone conversation to correct the error or to satisfy the customer. I have never encountered such poor service.
Summary: Well so far the printer seems nice. I've been able to get it plugged into power. Unfortunately it appears that whomever writes Brother's drivers didn't bother to test anything on Windows 7 64-bit as the following error is presented from both the downloaded and CD driver setup --------------------------- Feature transfer error --------------------------- Feature: StatusMonitor Component: StatusMonitor_Common File: <WINSYSDIR>\ Error: The filename, directory name, or...
Summary: I have used Brother printers and multi-function machines for years, and found them to be very reliable and relatively economical, especially on a per page basis. In the present market for such devices, it is obvious that prices of machines have dropped and manufacturers are relying on sales of supplies for their profit. This is understandable to a point.
