Excerpt: unhappy with this purchase. They did not have one in the store for me to see, ordered on the recommendation of the Salesperson. I wanted a wireless printer. this one does not appear to be wireless. Wasted two hours to day trying to get it to print. Finally gave up and set aside until I have time to deal with it. I need a reliable wireless printer for my office.
Summary: I just replaced my computer and the ten year old scanner I was using was not fully functional with the new configuration. We already had a small, inexpensive Brother printer which we liked very much. When I got the DCP-7065DN printer / scanner I was impressed by the apparent quality of the machine. It printed as expected. The problem, it would not scan using the Brother software that came with the device.
Excerpt: Purchased this a year ago and it has plowed through toner. Now the toner light came on and after only a few copies (less then 25)the light comes on again. No more Brother Products for this business and/or home office.
Excerpt: This is the second Brother Multi-function printer I've purchased and it will be my last. Scans or copies using the ADF began having lines down the page after a few months of moderate use - 5 to 10 pages a day. Cleaning the glass, etc recommended by Brother support did not fix the problem. The only fix was to replace a part. Then I have no scanner while the machine is in the shop. I just bought a Snap Scan by Fuji after this one broke. It's a much better scanner.
Excerpt: We bought this multi-function laser printer to mitigate costlier b&w printing on our inkjet machine. Sadly, it has not worked out that way. We are on our second toner cartridge with far fewer copies than advertised, and the printer drum has also failed prematurely.
Excerpt: I am a lawyer and our firm owns several DCP 7040 units which we are very pleased with because of reliability, ease of operation, and cost of copies. My computer's hard drive died. I had Mozy back-up so saved my files but didn't save the disc that came with the DCP 7040. Brothers said I would have to buy the Paperport software.
