Summary: Unfortunately we purchased this printer during our busiest season (just before Christmas) and lived with all it's problems long enough to miss the return window. Otherwise we would have returned this printer without a second thought!! The scanner portion (especially to a network drive) was what sold us on this printer and it does perform that task admirably. But that is the only thing I can say works properly!! We are constantly having to calibrate it..
Summary: This printer seems very expensive. I don't have color lazer printers to compare it to, but it continues to shock me. I just put in a drum, now I need the belt, always need one ink cartridge or another. I've been a big Brother fan, but I'm going to try a different brand now, unless Brother just has glowing reviews on what I need.
Summary: Overall, this is a great device. However, Brother's support is NOT helpful. If you ever have issues with it telling you to replace the toner after you already replaced it, you will need to do a manual reset: - Open front over - Press Clear/Back button - Select the toner it asked you to replace - Close cover - You should be good to go :)
Summary: The print quality is great, just very expensive to purchase new toner at approx. $130 per color! Toner won't last as long as they say either. Best part is we didn't have to buy something with extra features we didn't need, such as fax or scanner. This is a printer/copier only.
Summary: Before purchasing this printer I did a large amount of research. I needed a color laser printer that did automatic duplex, scanning/copying and envelopes while at the same time not costing an arm and a leg for supplies. Here is what I found after using this printer almost a year. - Envelope printing is great but you can only feed envelopes 3 at a time.
Summary: We bought this printer in June 2008. It has been an awesome printer -- until we went to replace the toner cartridges. After blowing hundreds of dollars on new color toner, the printer refuses to recognize a new magenta toner cartridge. It will not print anymore, and Brother refuses to do anything about it. I suggest you look at an HP Color LaserJet if you expect this printer to last.
Summary: I've used the machine for one month only for copying; it's quiet but slow to warm up for first copy. Not sensitive to light blue for color copying. Need high contrast to copy light markings such as pencil.
Great machine, very time consuming to set up on a network

Summary: We just purchased this machine to replace a 7 year old monochrome copier (after 46,000 copies). The point of this machine was to copy B/W and color, so we don't use our HP inkjet as much. (which is an ink hog)It came two days after we ordered it, which was very respectable. Setup on the machine was hassle free, although when it came to installing the software on about 5 different computers, it was a Mess.
