Summary: This brother printer copier is a great addition to any small business. Copying and printing work great. Only complaint is no duplex copying or staple/collating, but one can't expect that at this price. A very good product.
Summary: I've been using this printer for about a month. It was easy to set up and begin using. The only complaint I have is that it doesn't do very well with envelopes. I read other reviews so I knew this could be a problem (but was hoping it wouldn't be!) It doesn't destroy the envelope, it just creates a crease on one side. Other than this issue, it works great. I love the duplex printing and scanning, it is very fast, and is very quiet when not in use.
Summary: I've had the DCP-8085DN for a couple of days. I'm very pleased with the performance. My only disappointment is with the multipurpose tray which I had anticipated using for envelopes. The multipurpose tray is described has having a capacity of 50 sheets--in use you learn that this is the capacity for plain paper--it only will accept about 3 envelopes. Using the multipurpose tray is also a bit of a hassle--rear & front doors must be lowered while in use.
Summary: I purchased the DCP-8085DN as a stand alone copier for a church to print bulletins. When deciding to purchase I compared several makes and models. The Brother DCP-8085DN had the features I wanted (primarily direct print and duplex) for a decent price. So far I have printed about 500 pages duplex. Only misfeed was on two occasions the 2nd tray picked up two sheets, I just need to be sure to fan the paper better.
Summary: We have had this printer now for a few months and it seems to be a workhorse. Haven't had any glitches. Printing envelopes was a bit tricky, but we finally figured it out. There is a bit of a different setting & placement for the envelopes.
Summary: I've been using HP printers almost exclusively. Now that I have this Brother printer I think I've found a new source for printers. Installation was much easier than any of the HP's I've owned. It prints and copies/scans fast... As others have mentioned, the by-pass tray does not handle very many sheets but it works without jamming. You do have to adjust the tension setting if you want to run envelopes through it.
Summary: Comments about Brother DCP-8085DN Multifunction Printer: This printer was purchased for the busy tax season in a CPA office. I would say it is a great value for the money. Duplex printing, scan to pdf, copies. We've been giving it a workout and it has performed flawlessly. We love it. The only thing I'd put on the wishlist is a way to send scans to a network device. The printer is not next to where I use my PC.
Pros: Efficient, Fast, Network Friendly, Quiet, Sharp Detail, User Friendly
Summary: One of my best purchases ever. I bought it for my wife who is a school teacher so she would have a photocopier at home. After a month of no problems, high quality printing, I'm buying stock in the company.
