Summary: Comments about Brother DCP-7030 Multifunction Printer: Easy to use and set up. However it is a shame that Brother does not supply the USB printer cable with it. (Prices for the exact SAME USB cable vary from $4.95 to $19.95! I am sure it would have cost Brother less than $2 for the cable.) Had to wait another week to use the printer since I had to order the USB cable from another vendor.
Excerpt: Brother has gone downhill fast, guess these should have stuck with fax machines they were known for and died along with the fax, we have constant problems with this printer, paper jams, ink leaking you name it. The Brother printing and scanning software is a joke, un-intuitive and slow. Do not recommend any Brother products now.
Summary: Comments about Brother DCP-7030 Multifunction Printer: I print a LOT of academic journal articles for school. Several hundred pages a week. My last Brother printer was great, and lasted almost five years of this plus regular dorm room abuse (you know, frequent drinks spilled on/in it, [*] sitting on it, whatever). So I bought this Brother, which copies and scans beautifully (AMAZING scan quality, and easy to use).
Pros: Easy Setup, Easy To Use, Fast Operation, Great Print Quality, Reliable
Excerpt: Overall this is a really good all-in-one Laser printer. I have had mine for about 2 years now & it's still working great. The only issue I have really had is that the door doesn't stay closed all the time. But otherwise, it copies really great & the cartridges last a pretty long time. I am a couponer & use it quite often to print my coupons from online & it is great for a black & white printer. It also scans really easy to my computer.
Would recommend if you're looking for a decent laser printer!

Excerpt: WHY I BOUGHT THIS When I started my degree at university, I knew that I had to print quite a lot of notes and tutorials. I knew that I wanted a laser printer because it gets the job done faster, and the first brand that came to my mind was Brother. So off I went on Amazon, searching for a reasonably priced laser printer and this was what I found.
Summary: Had it for more than a year now. Very very satisfied! No complaints what so ever. Few paper jams. What else could you want? Color printer maybe? Well, you'll have to pay more. But other than that -- it's great that it functions as a copying machine as well. And scanner!! Great. Don't get fooled into buying an inkjet! The color is horribly expensive. Lots of mess. Constant changing. If print more than once a week you HAVE to have a laser.
Summary: This product is no longer produced by Brother but I managed to find one for sale on Amazon. I can confirm the reviews. It worked out of the box, plug and play on Windows 7 literally without my having to do anything at all except plug it in! The USB from the old printer just plugged into this one so the issue of no USB lead didn't matter. It's difficult to say whether that is down to the printer or Windows 7!
Summary: We originally owned a Brother DCP 7025 for several years which was an excellent mono copier / colour scanner. We must of printed millions of copies over it's life and it proved to be a very reliable machine. We recently replaced this copier for a DCP 7030 which is very similar in terms of specification and equally offers excellent value for money.
