Summary: I purchased the TDM-IP50 to listen to the music from my Ipod. It was very easy to connect. I wire connects to the DMPORT of my sony receiver. The interface on the TV screen looks very outdated like from the 80's. Sony should have developed a better on screen display that looks more like Itunes being that they developed it for the ipod. That is the only Con. Everything else works great. It came with two adapters for an iphone and the larger ipods.
Summary: I bought this item to be CD player free. The unit is heavy so it want slide around. It works great with my sony receiver and the sound quality is just as good as having the CD player with an optical cable. It fits my iPod Nano and iPod Phone perfect without the adapters. Sony quality! It is nice to be able to control and see the music selection on the HD TV. However, I wish it would show the album art work.
Summary: I wasted $100 on this since it will not work with 4th Generation (or newer) Nanos. I'm sure it's a great product if you have the iPod version that is compatible, but mine is not. The description is not detailed enough!
Summary: It is great to be able to hook up our iPod and listen to music or even watch a video on the TV. Getting the video to work was a little tricky because the instruction guide didn't contain a lot of information. Also, there are only 2 iPod adaptors provided and they are for the iPhone, so if you don't have (or didn't keep) the other adaptors, you may have to buy the one for your iPod.
Summary: I got this to go with my Sony Bravia TV and sound system. It worked straight out of the box. I just had to change the sound system to DM Port (digital media). It comes with various docking sizes for different types of iPods. I've only used it with iPod and iPod touch, never with my iPod shuffle or an iPhone. The on-TV display works fine, but it is kinda of basic. I generally have my iPod ready to play before I plug it in or manually change songs.
