Summary: Please don't waste your money! I see the price hasn't gone down since I bought it over a year ago. I was expecting better sound for sure for the price point. In my opinion you're better off spending less than 30 to match the quality of this speaker system. My cheap computer speakers have a much better sound than this system. I liked the portability of it - for the first few months - it takes batteries and plugs in with an AC adapter.
Summary: I've never ever had problems with Philips products before, but..... I bought one, but it would hardly ever function correctly. The power light would come on, but no sound would come out whether I put the iPod directly on the dock or used the input feature. So I returned it to Philips and received a replacement, same problem, except now the replacement AC adapter doesn't work well (it seems too cheap).
Summary: I had this little sucker for about 18 months and it never worked right.I wanted it for use when outside ,camping and the like.It would burn through batteries at a rate of knots and also drain them when it was off so you had to use new batteries every time you came to use it.As a piece of technology it was as frustrating as anything I've ever used. It lokks good and sounds OK , distorts at medium to loudish volume, not an outdoor type.
Summary: I bought this for my daughter to take back to college. She wanted portable but not tiny and tinny. The good - nice sound for the size and price. Packs nicely into the sleeve that it came with and would slip into a backpack easily. Works with Ipod docking and also headphone style jack like my android uses. The bad - It would not turn on most of the time. Once in a while it would come on and sound great. Most times we could not get it to work.
