  • Summary: Won't connect wirelessly. Now after eight months out of warranty, the volume controls refuse to work. It is stuck on the loudest setting. Philips refuses to do anything about it and won't even tell me where to get it repaired. Last product that I will purchase from that once illustrious company.

The Airplay never worked. The speakers work only through the audio cable not through Airplay.

Raul Lozano, Amazon
7 September 2013
  • Summary: I was very excited to buy this low cost speakers because they had Airplay and that feature usually is very expensive. However when I received the speakers, to my surprise Airplay never worked! The speakers work only through the audio cable BUT NOT through Airplay. Money wasted.

Great sound...when it plays

Windridr, Amazon
4 July 2013
  • Summary: Hooked it up at the store to my iphone via the mini plug to try it out. Sounded amazing for the size and price. Problem is (and like so many others have reported) it does not work well at all on airplay. Drops sound every 10 to 15 seconds so is not useable. Returned the unit and tried a second one again with same issues. Eventually purchased Samsung DA-E670. Much much better.

Run away from this speaker!

James Kelly Troy, Amazon
29 April 2013
  • Summary: I purchased this with high hopes. The unit is gorgeous to look at and the price was awesome. I fully expected to have issues with the dropped signals and planned on updating the firmware to correct the problem. Although this item was new in box, I found out that Phillips no longer supports this item. I connected and paired them easily enough and they sounded ok when they would work. The problem is that the signal would drop out for MINUTES at a time.

Terrible wi-fi connectivity

Darryl Grimes, Amazon
27 April 2013
  • Summary: This speaker sounds fine, looks nice, and is seemingly affordable. I gave it to my mother as a Christmas gift and had it up an running in no time. Problem is, it would disconnect from wi-fi constantly. I'd say in this case, you get what you pay for. I should have spent a bit more and got something that worked. Stay away.

Airplay drops signal and forgets wireless setup

Michael Herrick, Amazon
13 April 2013
  • Summary: Stutters, stops and skips while playing. If you unplug it, it forgets the wireless settings and you have to set it up all over again. Which is not hard, but not exactly fun either. Sending it back. Found a Panasonic speaker that works much better for me on Airplay.

Buyer Beware - Philips will not stand behind this product

Alan Schreck, Amazon
30 November 2012
  • Summary: Airplay technology not really ready. I have been working with Apple support for 3 months now on most weekends to get these speakers to work. I have three of these (Philips) and two from another manufacturer. The speakers simply do not work consistently, either singly or all together, from the iMac or any remote device. This is more than an occassional drop out, which I could learn to live with.

Simply Awful

Randall, Amazon
26 November 2012
  • Summary: I have owned this device for a good 8 months and I can say without a doubt it is the worst WiFi device I've ever used (I'm even using it with all Apple networking software and routers). Phillips support is abysmal, for example, all the wifi speakers have updates, but they don't even list this speaker in the support area for updates to firmware. Some days, the USB 30-pin connector charges my devices and other days it won't even recognize my Touch, Ipad 3 or iPhone.

Useless for PC?

Nick T., Newegg
24 October 2012
  • Summary: What is the use of this thing? Like I'm really going to go buy some Apple product to use this when I have about seven PCs? Seems they could have made it RF or put in an 802.11n receiver or something that would make it practical.
  • Pros: Price, portability, power
  • Cons: Doesn't seem to work on PCs according to Mfr's website.
