Summary: I have a few UE products and I think they all sound pretty good and this unit sounds pretty good as well. There are a few drawbacks though... As battery life dwindles the volume level drops. I use it at full volume and notice a drop after the first hour or so of use. The decline is steady from there. You might get 3-4 hour out of it before it's completely dead. It takes a fairly long time to recharge. Close to three hours.
Proves that more money does not necessarily mean better

Summary: After picking up a PURE cube speaker at a local retailer for MORE than the UE, I was completely disappointing and returned it within 2 days. It sounded like crap. Muddy, weak, and an absolute nightmare to get the initial Bluetooth connection. I was so soured, I almost thought about giving up on portable Bluetooth speakers, but with so many positive reviews, I thought I'd give it one more chance. Wow.
Summary: I bought a few different bluetooth speakers and compared them side by side with a few different styles of music. I ended up picking the UE Boombox over the Jawbone and Bose. Thought everything was great with the speaker until I had an outdoor party at the house. After approximately 30 minutes of playtime at a decent volume level the sound dropped off.
Summary: This is a very cool device. I bought it open box, with no operating instructions. It was so easy to use, instructions weren't needed. I use it mainly outdoors and find that the sound is more than enough, even with the sounds of air conditioners running, etc. Some reviewers complained that it was too heavy on bass. The smartphone audio settings allow for a custom equalizer, where I found that I could adjust the mix to my liking.
