Batteries are the worst.

Chip, pcRUSH.com
9 June 2008
  • Summary: Comments about Creative Labs TravelDock 900 Portable Speaker System: These speakers do sound good for their size, but I'm so tired of battery operated accessories. My friend has a nice speaker system that's powered by USB. I'm using these speakers for the laptop, so the USB powered option would have been better for me. He needed one that would work well for his travel mp3 player, so we ended up trading. Worked out well.
  • Pros: Attractive Design, Compact, Great Sound Quality
  • Cons: Batteries

great sound, but eats batteries

Martyn K. Postle "Martyn", Amazon
3 August 2009
  • Summary: OK, adding to the other comments, I cannot fault the sound. It is excellent, but the machine eats batteries even when switched off. You MUST take the batteries out when not in use if you want a half way decent battery life.

Regarding the Zen Vision M...

Roger Sharp, Amazon
16 April 2007
  • Summary: This is a well built, sturdy and robust bit of kit. However, I wouldn't recommend it for use with the Zen Vision M. The "docking port" is not much help, and the unit consumes batteries at a ferocious rate. Worst of all, it is easily affected by any nearby piece of electrical equipment, which is liable to produce a high pitched whine that is most distracting.
