took a chance... it's junk. be warned

Chris H., Newegg
  • Summary: The mini itx format is limited in quantity and qualty it seems... there are not a lot of good options for a smal quiet or silent home system that are stable and reliable. This board is a crapshoot not wort taking even at the low low price.
  • Pros: Mini itx board... the only size that will fit into my custom case and even then the top of the case had to be opened up for my massive passive heatsink. Which was the plan. It looks pretty but...
  • Cons: .... it's a paperweight. After reading the reviews I was leery but wanted to get this project going and this was one of the few boards that had the features I wanted. After ordering the board all new memory processor and 200 watt mini itx power supply and a Plexy 128 gig express ssd I sat down to ...

  • Pros: Looks nice.
  • Cons: everything breaks easily. sata plugs broke when plugging in. USB3 plug broke plugging it in. Ordered 2 boards neither of them worked. Spent days trying to switch parts trying to solve problem. After spending twice the money for all the parts. The only thing could be is both boards are DOA. Zotac ...

Dead after 2 years

Andrew T., Newegg
10 November 2013
  • Summary: Would not buy another zotac product based on my experience with this motherboard
  • Pros: Has lots of features and is cheaper than alternate s1155 motherboards
  • Cons: Fails to boot after only a year and a half of use. Conveniently out of it's short 1 year warranty. Was buggy throughout it's working life occasionally giving error beeps one boot and then booting normally the next. Up to date on all firmware and BIOS. At this point it will boot but it's hit or mi...

Tread lightly - not much you can run on this MB...

Nathanel L., Newegg
19 January 2013
  • Pros: It does turn on. It is somewhat useable.
  • Cons: There's some type of ACPI issue with this motherboard that doesn't allow using it as a Xen Dom0 or FreeNAS box - neither will boot at all. You can get it to boot a vanilla Linux kernel, just boot with acpi=off. Furthermore, I updated the bios in the hopes the above ACPI issue would be fixed. It i...

ZOTAC has issues with support

Don A., Newegg
18 August 2011
  • Summary: Got a rebate? One took 5 months and I was emailing after three weekly. I have one in now that went out four weeks ago and it's still pending? Service with Zotac, compared to ASUS, Gygabyte, Corsair or OCZ is not even close!!!
  • Pros: Nice feature packed boards. Price
  • Cons: SERVICE!!! I have had 6 or 7 of the mini ITX Zotac boards all worked good but I have had RMA issues. First lets say it's going to be a 45 plus day process. I'm trying to RMA a board now that they have declined? No email, no response just declined. Buy a board for a few more bucks and have some se...

Update to Previous Review

Derrick G., Newegg
21 June 2011
  • Summary: RMA'ing a motherboard is a pain, especially in a very small form factor where all your cables are neatly in place as a result of hours of labor... The fact that their support group is in no way apologetic for this is irritating. Last time I will buy a Zotac product.
  • Pros: Worked great while it did.
  • Cons: Board won't post. Updated BIOS by following the directions given EXACTLY. Upon reboot the system will not post even in a bench setup. RMA'ing the board at my own expense with no cross-ship or any other form of compensation...

Update

Alan K., Newegg
21 June 2011
  • Summary: My PC up 24/7 and video froze already twice a day. Nothing is overclocked. BIOS default settings, but board is not stable. Cold not trust the board where it does support full features of i7 2600K such as turbo boost. Looks like Zotac cut the corners.
  • Pros: Nothing left
  • Cons: Video freezing using integrated graphics. Works slower than ASRock H67 board. SATA is slower - 70 Mb/s vs VSRock 120 Mb/s with the same HD configuration: one SSD 6GB/s and 2 RAID 0 WD 3 GB/s drives.
