Compact but can't handle many videos well

The General, Amazon
24 January 2014
  • Summary: The cpu and built on GPU combined with an SSD should be more then enough for a media box but I frequently get display lag when watching netflix or other HD video sources. Other then the worse then expected performance the box is compact, relatively quiet and gives you some customization ability for building a media pc.

  • Summary: I had high hopes for this, but it just doesn't have the Oomph factor that I was looking for in building an HTPC as outlined here; [...] I instead opted for a much more powerful system to run as my HTPC, as outlined here; [...

Not very reliable

Dr Julian, Amazon
23 July 2013
  • Summary: Board frequently freezes running window 7. Freeze requires reboot. Unfortunately this board was purchased for remote operation so its continuous freeze-ups make it pretty much worthless to us. Oh yeah...and just TRY and get action to replace it...good luck.

Having a very bad time with this company!!

dw, Amazon
8 July 2013
  • Summary: Had the motherboard installed and running nicely for about 4 months. Then one day the Ethernet died via the cat-5 connector. Wireless still working, so something wrong with the hardware on the cat-5 path. Perhaps a bad voltage converter input chip for the wired Ethernet signal line...not sure. Acquired an RMA from the company. Company instructions very strict, but followed to the letter and had the board tracked in shipping.

This makes a real nice Windows 8 media center motherboard

K&K, Amazon
31 December 2012
  • Summary: Intel has ceased production of these processors so it you want one I'd recommend grabbing it while it is still available. It works very well with a SSD main HD and a 2 TB secondary drive in our media computer. I ended up using a MOCA network but the WIFI did work very well. The display is plenty fast for 1080.

Anthony Tanas, Amazon
11 July 2012
  • Summary: I got this to put into a retro Commodore 64 case (keyboard built into chasis from Commodore USA). It's been great. My only gripe is I wish I could more RAM on it (it's maxed at 4GB which is standard for this class). My first generation Atom processor was terrible but the latest and greatest Atom included with the motherboard tears through general computing tasks. Especially wonderful is the NVIDIA graphics which are fantastic for an integrated GPU. Highly recommended.
