Good solid board

Robert C., Newegg
12 February 2010
  • Summary: First board came with major BIOS problems that continued even after a flash upgrade. really put me under the gun because we had some high priced software people that were on sie before I could figure what was wrong with the system, I spent 3 days rebooting the server and letting the do their thing...
  • Pros: Solid Board as expected
  • Cons: wish there was a board without all the sata and sas because I use an sas add on card anyhow first board RMAed I don't expect to get bad motherboards from a company like Tyan...they are server boards and that is not an option in that world

Kenneth P., Newegg
10 September 2009
  • Summary: Wish it had an external speaker connector. You'll have to make do with the tiny onboard speaker, which will probably be next to impossible to hear in a loud server room.
  • Pros: Very nice board! They included everything: power and reset button on the motherboard so if you have the case open you can power cycle without reaching around the case. Diagnostic POST LEDs on the MB. Good BIOS for a server (not for overclockers!). Lots of features and good layout. This is the rea...
  • Cons: The SATA cables were way too short for rack mount server use. Not a big deal, I had plenty of spare cables.

My first experience with them was a Pentium II workstation I owned and have not had a single regret about buying TYAN for it's 4 successors s...
