Good, Reliable Board

Jonas A., Newegg
13 March 2014
  • Pros: Easy to install and it's been running solid for about a year. BIOS, firmware and IPMI are easy to upgrade remotely. Enough PCI slots for most people's network/HBA needs.
  • Cons: CPU pins are easy to disturb. It was reporting less memory for one of the CPUs until i discovered a pin was slightly bent when I installed the CPU

Rock solid motherboard - Supermicro tech support is 5 stars

2 November 2013
  • Summary: A big drawback is the lack of SATA 3 ports. I however believe this is due to AMD's chipset limitations rather than a Supermicro decision.. Easy to overcome, add a IBM M-1015 SAS card and get an extra 8 SATA3 ports when flashed to IT mode. Minus an egg for that.
  • Pros: Rock stable, this motherboard, like most Supermicro stuff is meant to run 24/7 and you can count on it. Ive had the motherboard for about 3 months now, running 24/7 with moderate to severe processing levels and so far nothing has gone wrong. The IPMI is also nice to remotely manage the server should the OS go bad (reboot, shutdown, poweroff, etc) and also to see real time sensor readings. The product is also shipped with all necessary accessories and construction/asse...
  • Cons: Doesn't have SAS ports but I guess its not really a CON since there is an option available, same mobo but with SAS ports: H8DCl-6F.

Great Product

Isaac W., Newegg
25 August 2013
  • Pros: I got this board maybe a little over a month ago. It has been running at 100% load for that whole time, and there hasn't been a single problem.
  • Cons: When installing an OS i had some trouble. Ubuntu 12.04LTS and before would give me i/o errors upon install, but 13.04 worked without problems.
