WARNING - BIOS updated killed board, Sapphire doesn't support anymore

Anonymous, Newegg
7 October 2011
  • Pros: Good while it lasted.
  • Cons: Flashed BIOS from Sapphire site, totally lost all SATA devices. Filed a ticket with Sapphire and they basically said they don't support this product anymore. Buy at your own risk, now I'm stick with a $120 brick.

Great product, flawed support

Anonymous, Newegg
9 July 2011
  • Summary: I spent a week trying to install Windows XP on this board using my original SP3 CD and had no success. This board needs a driver for the AMD SATA controller or none of your hard drives are visible when installing Windows. I contacted Sapphire Support trying to get the driver needed.
  • Pros: Works perfectly right out of the box. BIOS has a lot of flexible options. Fan is relatively quiet.
  • Cons: None with the product. See below for issues with the company.

Works well for HTPC

Pawel K., Newegg
25 June 2011
  • Summary: Great for HTPC.
  • Pros: Chose this for my first HTPC built. Price is right. Works quite well. Obviously not the record breaker for speed, but energy efficient.
  • Cons: No firewire. 1 expansion slot only.

4.5 Eggs

Jordan L., Newegg

  • Summary: Sapphire Pure Fusion Mini Kingston 4Gb DDR3 SoDimm Corsair Nova 32Gb SSD WD Green 1TB HDD Slim Blu Ray/DVD-RW Drive IN WIN BP655.200BL w/ 200w PS Win 7 HP x64 Happauge HD PVR I wanted to give this board 5 eggs, I really did!
  • Pros: Very small board. The pictures do not do it justice. Holding the board, the only things that stick up are the CPU cooler and the I/O ports. Plenty of room for airflow. Mini PCI-E that I can't wait to play around with. I find SODIMM a pro, becuase unlike DDR2, where SODIMM were more expensive than...
  • Cons: As soon as I updated all the drivers, Catalyst defaulted to 10% underscan, so it didn't fill my entire 42" Plasma. I run it at 720p becausemy older 1080p HDTV is not as crisp as I'd like. After mucking around a bit, and uninstalling and reinstalling several times, I got it to stop underscanning. ...

work's great

Cory D., Newegg
4 June 2011
  • Summary: Built this for my mom to eliminate the cable TV build, paired this with a Hauppauge 1250 TV tuner and some Crucial (2x2gb 1066) ram. Running windows 7 media center with the espn3 plugin and media browser this little machine does what it needs to do.
  • Pros: small, low power consumption, fairly quiet, gets the job done
  • Cons: none that I didn't know when purchasing since I decided to save some $ and not have the on-board bluetooth, a mini pci-e slot, optical/coax audio etc. There is another Sapphire board with those features but didn't seem necessary for this particular build since it was for my mom

Excellent little board

Justin E., Newegg
27 May 2011
  • Summary: I'm using this as a low power http server and bluetooth sniffer (using an ubertooth one), it does exactly what I need it to do with Ubuntu 11.04 server.
  • Pros: -High number of features packed into a small package. -Very low power consumption (idle: ~18W, peak ~25W) -Changing the boot sequence in the bios will immediately boot the new primary without restarting. -7-segment display of bios status codes is a nice touch.
  • Cons: Fan on the APU is small and noisy. I've removed it and am relying on my Antec ISK100's case fan to cool the board. So far, so good. Stock bios is slightly buggy. be sure to flash to the latest revision once you receive your product.

Good Little HTPC Board.

Jason M., Newegg
26 May 2011
  • Summary: The price of this board is what drew me to it, and it had the features I was looking for in my future HTPC. I was concerned about memory compatibility without a QVL. I ended up getting a stick of G.SKILL Ripjaws 4GB DDR3 1066, and it worked like a charm.
  • Pros: Works well as a HTPC. Lowest price of all the other Fusion 350 MoBo. Runs Win 7 Home just fine.
  • Cons: No RAM QVL listed on Shappire website. The CPU Fan is loud. At the time I got the board, no downloads from Sapphires website was available.
