Conclusion: I don't think there's any compelling reason to move from an Ivy Bridge or even a Sandy Bridge based system to a Haswell system-- there simply isn't enough performance and feature differential to justify it. On the other hand, if you're building a new rig from scratch, there's little point in investing in end-of-life platforms, so going Haswell/Z87 makes sense.

Summary: As you guys know, overall I am a little disappointed by Intel's Haswell processors when it comes to its baseline performance, or the lack of improvement of processor performance in general over the last two generations more specifically.
However, the motherboards manufacturers all went bananas with their motherboards. MSI even literally took that banana color :) Seriously though, what a sexy motherboard !

Summary: At a price point of $259, the MSI Z87 MPOWER MAX is in the high-end category of Intel Z87 motherboard systems.
The MPOWER MAX is a high-end board and it shows through the connectivity benchmarks, the memory performance and video performance. LAN speed was noticeably high and very stable and the Wireless LAN connectivity suffered no dropouts even when communicating through another router through two walls.
Conclusion: MSI first introduced the MPOWER line under the Z77 chipset and have had plenty of success so it makes total sense to expand this product range with the successor – Z87. The MPOWER MAX is clearly designed to meet overclockers needs. Only essential features have been integrated and our efforts in this particular department yielded great results. We were able to effectively lower the CPU voltage at our best frequency overclock for the 4770K.
