Good MOBO but needs some improvement

Glenn, Amazon
9 October 2013
  • Summary: Overall Good mobo, love the go2 bios software which allows you to go in bios when the computer restarts. That means no more spamming the keyboard to get in bios. The blue led for cpu phase can be turned off but not the blue LEDs on the bottom of the board.

Great MoBo for $154.99

Vincent E., Newegg
23 September 2013
  • Summary: - After figuring out the standoff issue, the board ran smoothly. - This issue is well documented in the MSI website/forum...not sure why it's not included as a warning in the instruction booklet.
  • Pros: - This motherboard has the best BIOS I've seen so far - High quality board layout for an affordable price - Very easy to to install and the board is properly labeled
  • Cons: - I replaced my Micro-ATX with this board and one of the problem is that, my RAM is now touching the CPU fan. It didn't used to with my Micro-ATX. - There is an extra standoff required for Micro-ATX (just below the first PCIe slot) that should be removed. If this is not removed, it shorts the boa...

Zangetsuslayer, Amazon
30 August 2013
  • Summary: They replaced my motherboard within 1 week. I wrote my previous comment pretty upset and I do not believe a one. I believed I was just unlucky and had a defective part. Overall I did love this mobo but I bought myself a new mobo on Saturday. :|

Very Nice Board

David W., Newegg
10 July 2013
  • Summary: Overall, I like this board very much. Intel i5-3570K CPU 16 GB G Skills RAM at 1866 MHz MSI Z77A-GD65 Gaming Z77 motherboard 120 GB Mushkin SSD 500 GB Seagate SSHD Hybrid Drive 2 TB Western Digital Green HDD Sapphire 7950 3GB videocard Cooler Master HAF 932 case ASUS MX279H 27" Monitor Acer G235HAbd...
  • Pros: I really like this board. It looks good and is well made. The black and red, while not important in the overall working of the board, is gorgeous. It works well with my RAM, which is black and red, and my Corsair fans, which are black, with a changeable ring, in this case red. Its a well laid out...
  • Cons: OC Genie is not something I use. I have tried it, and it doesn't work for me. When enabled, I start up my PC, and I can't get to a website for about 5 minutes. Not enabled, I can get to any website almost immediately once my desktop comes up. Maybe the issue isn't OC Genie, but when I don't use i...

MSI did not cut corners with this board!

Yee H., Newegg
9 July 2013
  • Summary: Always download the latest original drivers from their respective companies. This guarantees compatibility and functionality vs drivers downloaded using Windows Update or outdated drivers on the motherboard's website. In addition, when it comes to troubleshooting it's one less issue to worry about.
  • Pros: Very impressed with the overall packaging of the board and the sleek black/red color scheme. Everything used on this board screams quality. From the capacitors to the onboard controllers combined with competitive pricing this board is a no brainer. – Been running this board for almost 2 months an...
  • Cons: – DVI-D only supports up to 1920x1200 resolution – No Display Port – No PCI slot, some of us have a $200 sound cards that use PCI, but almost all high-end motherboards no longer support PCI – Slight delay when navigating UEFI BIOS compared to competitors – No included FireWire adapter or FireWire...

Pretty nice MB

TONEY S., Newegg
22 June 2013
  • Pros: Love the board and layout, preforms great but see con below.
  • Cons: Can only get one of the front panel I/O USB 3.0 connections to work. Corsair was good enough to send a replacement I/O panel to solve the issue but it failed to. Its my assumption that it must be in the USB 3.0 I/O plug on the board. Filed an RMA but not quite sure what needs to be done since thi...

Decent Mobo

Pawel K., Newegg
21 June 2013
  • Summary: This MoBo has lost a lot of appeal to higher end users since Haswell chips came out at the beginning of June. Yet for those looking at getting a decent bang for their buck, this is a worthy card to look at.
  • Pros: Mobo arrived in a very nice, sturdy box with all elements neatly packaged. Mobo supports Intel Z77, LGA 1155, , which was Intel’s newest until Haswell came out. Killer NIC performs well. 7 PCI slots, Multiple OC options. Very nice modern BIOS with OC and power saver modes. Easy OC setup. MoBo its...
  • Cons: No DisplayPort while there is VGA, only 2 USB 3.0 ports while there are 4 USB 2.0 ports and PS2 port (who uses that anymore). No firewire port, which I still need for a legacy camcorder. Although this mobo has 1394 header, which could be used if your case has a front fire wire port. MSI made some...

Amazing Hardware Overshadows the Poor Software

Zachary H., Newegg
31 May 2013
  • Summary: If MSI could get the Audio Genie and Sound Blaster Cinema software to be more useful, I wouldn't have taken off an egg as the only other con would have been having only two USB 3.0 ports in the back. Also, not all fan connecters are PWM.
  • Pros: This motherboard has a lot packed into it. MSI went above and beyond to beat your average Z77 motherboard. A dedicated Killer NIC, a RealTek audio chipset that no digital noise from interference - AND Creative's Sound Blaster Cinema THX software. The board itself is sturdy (mine did not flex on m...
  • Cons: Only two USB 3.0 ports on the back. A bit of the included software is junk. Sound Blaster Cinema does not seem to save any configuration changes. Installing Audio Genie allows for quick changes to it, but Audio Genie also pushes the volume to 50% on startup -- I usually have mine sitting at 25% t...

Mark, Amazon
24 May 2013
  • Summary: This was my second choice for a motherboard, but very happy it worked out this way. It has been easy to work with and the push button overclock worked great.
