  • Pros: This motherboard has handled everything I've thrown at it...all that's left is the kitchen sink. It was cheap on shell shocker, it arrived fast and know keeps my system amazingly running smooth.

Gary Gay, Amazon
10 April 2012
  • Summary: Paired this board with a i3-2120 used a cooler off i5-2500k, 2 x 4 gigs of Mushkin (MIA) ddr1333 ram, Corsair 500 watt psu. It stays very cool as in board temps & so does the cpu it's all in a Cooler Master CM Scout case. I have my good old trusted Sparkle GTX 460 1gb in it runs everything.

Paul E., Newegg
17 February 2012
  • Pros: Board is ABSOLUTELY GREAT! Installed this board to run a server machine and Installed Intel Xeon e3-1230 processor with no problems however processor does not have GPU so installed nice graphics card. The installation of Windows Server 2008 was easy. Loaded MSI Update software after initial OS in...
  • Cons: I wish memory speed for higher speeds of 1600 and up did not require overclocking! They use an * by the speed to notate this.

Resolved Intel video problems.

OM, Amazon
3 January 2012
  • Summary: Very stable and fast. No Intel video problems like H67 chipset. The H67 chipset motherboards of which I first bought the Asus P8H67-M Evo had the dreaded HDMI video problems. They apparently have been resolved with Z68. I don't know if it is the chipset or something else.

Excellent Board

Adam B., Newegg
10 October 2011
  • Summary: I use this board for a 13x HDD HTPC setup (24TB total) that also acts as my NAS/Media Server for other PCs. In conjunction with an i7 2600k CPU, 16gb DDR3 1600 RAM, and Blu-Ray Burner, I crunch through rips and play 3D Blu-Rays without a hitch, all while serving up HD media to other devices in the...
  • Pros: + High quality "military class" components that most high end boards even skimp on, including the rev.2 (G45) of this board. + Z68 chipset in MicroATX form factor + 2x PCI-x x1 slots = Awesome for RAID cards. + VERY efficient on power + Incredible stability overall + Tweak Town's Editor's Choice ...
  • Cons: - You need to understand that the ED-55 is NOT meant as a SLI/CF gamer's board. You'll need to get the G45 version. - Price is a little pricey, but you're paying for quality MOSFETS and capacitors for ultimate power efficiency and stability.

Nice Mobo

Scott M., Newegg
1 September 2011
  • Summary: Only minor Cons not enough to offset build quality and stability. Deserves Five Eggs. There are voltmeter check points....really? on a MATX board? C'mon, this is a waste. An MATX board needs to have USB 3.0 header since you don't have the extra slots to play with.
  • Pros: Very well made, runs cool and very stable. Very accommodating to O/C, either through BIOS or the OC button (very cool!) Sturdy socket mount. Spiffy GUI for BIOS uses mouse. On-board video works surprisingly well. On board power and reset switch are great. 6 gbps SATA ports and USB 3.0 plus all th...
  • Cons: Nothing major, only minor concerns. No header for USB 3.0, yet there is a serial port header? Manual is pretty poor. Discrete video card must be AMD 4xxx or Nvidia 2xx or higher or board will not detect it (try and find that gem in any documentation). Before my 6950 arrived, I was pulling my hair...
