Summary: When I first obtained this board, it was everything I wanted and more! BIOS software, board layout, chipset, and everything I wanted. However, as of the time this review, I have spent an additional %50 of purchase price in RMA shipping. Not to mention, I still do not have a working system. I have put much time into this board troubleshooting, swapping parts to narrow down what is wrong, and filling out forms to replace the boards. 1st Board: Worked great for 9 months.
Summary: This was my second build. My first build was also a MSI board(x48 platimum). The board with the latest BIOs (1.7) is very stable. Had no issues in two months since installation. The build went smoothly; the key for me was that I had the Bios flashed to 1.7 before building so I avoided any BIOS / hardware compatibility issues I purchased the 8D (vs the 4 slot version) not for the 8 DIMMs slots but for the LED diagnostics which comes with the 8D; this feature can be very...
Summary: Bought the motherboard for a build I was doing. Removed the motherboard from the box and installed in computer per MSI's instructions. Computer would go through boot and shut down within 20 - 25 seconds and then re-boots. Pulled memory & swapped, pulled other items from motherboard - same results. Took computer to repair station and they determined the motherboard was defective.
Summary: Can't really say much doa and ended up going with the rampage IV formula! But luckily had it shipped back the next day with amazon great service and outstandingly quick shipping for my refund.
Summary: I spent months doing research, agonising about which board to purchase. I had already narrowed down CPU and video card choices before hand so the last remaining choice to make was the board. I had basically narrowed down my search to the Rampage IV Extreme or the Sabertooth X79. One day I came across this MSI and it is as if the skies opened up and a heavenly tune played.

Summary: I had set it up be right and fix issue. My motherboard I love it, it so sweet anyway had install intel i7 3820 3.6ghz and DDR3 1866mhz corsair 8gb 2x4gb 1.5v and 1Tb HDD black and MSI GTX 760 2gb oc etc everything's run fine then once windows is on and MSI website match my motherboard software to download of liveupdate 6 then check for hardware to update to new ver bios auto safe because if u want usb bios update but can risk easy to brick motherboard!
Summary: Product arrived as promised. Everything was in box, including connectors, extra USB ports, software and manuals. Support online by MSI is fantastic, the manuals informative. Didn't have any issues installing the LGA2011 socket processor (Intel i7 4820). Normally you have to do a manual bios upgrade - i didn't have to do this. Highly recommend this for a home gaming/video work build. Great motherboard with lots of room for expansion!
