Pros: Still working without issue Runs very fast Upgraded the memory to 6GB of DDR2 6400 Bought an Awesome Graphics card The computer works Great still though Seems as fast as the I7 Quad Core I use at work All working fine
Summary: Bang for the buck this board really kicks it a nickel with Woldale E8400, 8500 & 8600 series. With a GTX 260 and no OC I reached 13,500 3d mark. I will be experimenting with OCZ reaper 1066 2gb ram sticks 4 each for my testing a write a 2nd review.
Pros: This is a great board once you work around nvidia 780i issues. I recommend it for experienced technicians since it requires flashing the bios to ver 1.2. You can only do that in XP due to the sata nvgts.sys driver in vista causing bsod. Once flashed and the driver updated either by newest nvidia ...
Cons: Board bsod problem took quite a bit of time to resolve but well worth it. I hope my info helps any out there. I believe this to be an Nvidia 780i chipset related issue rather than MSI. Once DDR3 comes down this board will quickly be obsolete along with 775 cpus.
Summary: CPU started right up as 2.39 GHz and RAM as 800 I'm new to OC-ing so it took me a while to get the manual part figured out. Had it running 3.3 GHZ yesterday but backed down to 3.07 GHZ because I didn't want to push it.
Pros: Intel Yorkfield Core 2 Quad Q6600/2.40 GHz, Zelmon CNPS9700 Led 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler, 4 G Crucial Balistic Tracer DDR2 1066 Ram. CPU running 3.07 GHz 1371 FSB (342 x 9) + .1250 V moved V-Core to 1.304/1.312 Ram @ 1077 2.1V 5-5-5-15-2T SLI Ready- set to Expert, NB Voltage 1.325, SB Voltage 1,52...
Cons: Can't sean to get the SATA wotking as I would like - found Nivida drivers that helped - running 2 WD 320's and WD500 along with 2 Lite-On Burners off stata ports as IDE's. Really works great! It might be me so I not holding the SATA issue against the motherboard.
Summary: My Rig: This MoBo, Segate Barracuda 7200.00 500GB, BFG GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB, Intel E8400 3.0GHz, 4GB Corsair XMS2.
Pros: First off I have owned this mobo for 6 months now and I have nothing but good things to say about it. However I don't overclock, but I have been reading posts and most of you are saying that there is some instabilaty with this mobo. I have not yet experienced any instabilaty and I bought it with ...
Summary: I'm using this with an Intel Core-2 Quad Q9300, 8GB (4 x 2GB) Mushkin 1066mhz RAM, Areca 1220 RAID5 hardware controller, EVGA NVidia 8800GTS 640MB graphics card. Running Debian 64-bit linux. 4 Samsung 500GB drives connected to the onboard SATA controller.
Pros: The feature set is what initially attracted me to this board. I was looking for a board to build a powerful home server around so stability and features where most important. I wanted SLI, easy overclocking, onboard RAID0/1, 6 SATA ports, 2 gig ethernet ports, and support for at least 8gig of RAM...
Cons: The onboard RAID controller does not have a dedicated RAID processor, it relies on the CPU for parity calculations so it is not as fast a true hardware RAID controller. Onboard sound would be preferable.
Summary: Excellent board with a quality sound card.
Pros: Great mobo, the packaging is awesome. Motherboard layout is great. Comes with x-fi which is great. One feature I like is it includes little connectors for the case switches/connectors that you can connect to, and then connect that to the mobo, saving me some very frustrating moments I usually hav...
Cons: Only one IDE cable. Since most everything is sata now, not a problem.
Summary: Bought this on 2/7/2008 I have been a big fan of ASUS motherboards and VGA Cards. Now I have became a fan of MSI. I always wondered, every time I installed windows on my ASUS boards, Why it took so long to get past the early setup screens.
Pros: O so many I probably listed the on my original review
Cons: esata is pain as it is on many boards either that or the esata drive I had was awful, got it to work perfectly on 1 MotherBoard
Summary: The cooling system is much better than any other 780i board on the market. It's a clean designed board. And, neat board with a good Raid system and good back connectors. This is the only 780i board that has solid caps, other than the A brand boards. however, their boards run horribly hot.
