Cons: The board has been serving me well since 2011, until dome rocket scientist at MSI approved the introduction of BIOS 4.3 Thank You for turning my entire system into this huge paper till a new board arrives, and no, it isn't a MSI. Newegg doesn't have any compatibles in stock. Done all the troubles...
Summary: Bought an AS Rock Z77 Extreme 4 as a replacement. IMO if a BIOS update kills a motherboard, the company should fix it regardless of the warranty status.
Pros: At the time of purchase, it was one of the first motherboards that supported Sandybridge Processors. Overclocking was great(for both RAM and CPU). USB 3.0 rear ports worked well. The front ones not as well.
Cons: Updated the BIOS a few days ago(it said successfully) and it bricked the motherboard. Now it comes on for a few seconds, goes off, and repeats the cycle. Called MSI support and they said I'm out of luck since the warranty was expired.
Summary: This was my first bad experience with MSI mobos (I've built several rigs over the years - all very reliable) The change to a windows based BIOS may not be such a good idea.
Pros: Nice layout, good mix of PCI-e and PCI slots, Great overclock (when it worked.)
Cons: BIOS issues from the get-go. Had to reset to factory setting after running OC Genie otherwise the mobo went into a BIOS startup loop. BIOS bricked after several OC genie rounds so it's now in the trash can.
Summary: First board I received was DOA. No problem Newegg replaced it. Thanks. Second board has been a stability nightmare since I installed it. I am trying to use all Sata ports, but unfortunately the board can't seem to handle it. I get BSOD's all the time.
Pros: Nice Feature List
Cons: Board is not stable at all. Constantly crashes.
Summary: After buying a new computer case i had to buy a new mother board and i choose this one after having bought other MSI products. after it got here found out my old CPU wouldn't fit so i used the manual that came with the product to find and match the CPU that the motherboard would support.
Summary: Hypothesis? Of 9000 worth of inventory purchased from newegg this was my first return, definately a good run. my issue is with how it was handled. When i purchased the item, it seems they probably were out of stock which I'm sure happens due to human error.
Pros: Solid japanese qaulity caps, MSI quality in general looks excellent, I have the same board in my main rig and it runs great with a 2600k running at 4.2GHZ with the push of a button.
Cons: It seems I'm not the only one that got a rma'd board sent to me as a new purchase. the stickers that normally are on the board were stuck on the outside of the mobo box when it arrived. I called newegg, they stated, try it, if it doesn't work return it. so this build going two states away to my s...
