Great board only one issue

David W., Newegg

  • Pros: Fast and great for desktop work. I have 4gb setup and WinSAT scores are great. I would recommend this MB.
  • Cons: Has sleep issues several PCIe cards are not waking up. I place the cards on my previous MB and they resume fine on Windows 7 SP1.

  • Summary: I will continue to use MSi. I haven't bought one of their boards in like 4 years, I've been using laptops and this is my first home PC build in awhile, and I am glad they still make quality products. Just like back in the day when Windows XP was the new thing.
  • Pros: I used this board to build an HTPC/Web Design PC. Quick Specs: Windows 7 64-Bit 8 Gig DDR2 800 G.Skill Memory 1 TB Hatachi Hard Drive MSI Radeon HD 4870 1GB (Using the boards Hybird CrossfireX) I am running two Hanns.G 24inch 1080i displays and a 42inch Sharp for home theather viewing with this s...
  • Cons: Maybe it's me, maybe it's my PC Case, but my connectors will not fit on the little tabs for the power switch, the hdd lights, etc. They fit loosely and if I put the power switch on, i can't fit another connector next to it, so I have no signal lights, first time I have ever run into this. ?? Mayb...

Msi not up to snuff

Wesley C., Newegg
22 September 2009
  • Summary: I got this board for my child's pc so i seen this one for 77 bucks free ship so i thought i would give it a try. If your looking for a Mid level board this one really is not a good choice there are a lot of boards for 10-20 bucks more to make your build a lot smoother.
  • Pros: Board worked thats about it.The on board sound works well oddly enough.
  • Cons: The board is really narrow.Long and narrow more like the width of a micro board than a full size board. I have a Nvidia 9800 gtx + video card so 1 pci slot is total blocked. The lay out of the boad is the worst i have seen the sata plug locations are blocked off by the back of the video card. I h...

Nice board - buy it

Henry F., Newegg
20 September 2009
  • Pros: Very well motherboard. First time MSI user but I think is better than any other brand. (Believe there is an upgrade path to AM3 socket via MSI bios update) I like the on-board button that clears CMOS value. I am sold to MSI boards given this board's values.
  • Cons: Overclock Jumpers do not work well as I had thought.

  • Pros: Nice board, great layout. Very solid and the power, reset, and cmos buttons are a nice touch.
  • Cons: DOA, after reading other reviews this board has problems.

Dustin P., Newegg
9 June 2009
  • Summary: why do companies only use quality control on the boards and parts no one can afford?
  • Pros: see previous review by me
  • Cons: ok... after a day or so i found that this board refuses to allow me to tranfer files between drives whether it is from hdd to hdd, hdd to usb drive, usb drive to hdd. i have used 3 different os's (vista, xp pro, linux) i have tried changing usb ports, hdd's, even adding a usb card. no dice. the c...
