Summary: I had such high hopes..first MSI board ever purchased...Company has a great reputation.
Pros: Sharp looking Mobo...up to 8gb memory
Cons: Board ran great 1st day..installed Win 7 and drivers..got up next day, would not boot at all...tried taking out memory, 1 at a time...rest CMOS twice..tried taking out drives, 1 at a time..still would not boot. Very disappointing!
Summary: I'm really surprised and out $50. Why would a motherboard have SATA II support, but no AHCI support? I did not expect that! MSI's site says "4 SATAII ports with transfer rate up to 3Gb/s." It never mentions IDE support only.
Pros: none at this point I'm going to try to return it.
Cons: No support for AHCI sata drive. IDE ONLY!!! It is quite useless. I looked in all the documentation and could find no reference to this limitation.
Summary: Loaded flawlessly with no issues - Great mobo
Pros: Works great - will work with core 2 duo and quad cores including the QX9650, Q9650/9550 dual cores etc DDR3 is a great feature to have with a core 2 duo or core 2 quad, these CPUs are still very fast and adding DDR3 extends their life even more.
Cons: No SATAIII but thats fine, and you can ad a SATAIII PCI Express card to get access to FAST SATAIII SSDs
Summary: I see so many mixed comments that could deter someone from buying this board. The ones complaining are the ones who always need to overclock. If you just need a motherboard for ordinary use this one is perfect
Pros: Worked flawlessy, right out of the box. Perfect price. I purchased this motherboard to replace my daughters ddr2 motherboard.
Summary: This is not a P35/P45/X38/X48 Motherboard - This is not the ASRock Extreme 11 Motherboard - This is not the Gigabyte GAZ77-UD5 Motherboard This is not a gaming motherboard This is not a flying saucer This is not a board that any N-oob or Idiologist can just throw under a bus, then jump on and wonder...
Pros: Installed Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (3.0GHz 6MB CPU Cache) Installed 2x4 (8GB) DDR3 RAM GSkill Samsung Spinpont F3 ASUS 24X DVD Burner Rosewill Case & PSU This mobo makes a great system, loaded and installed everthing perfectly with no issues. THIS IS A GREAT MOBO!!! let me clarify
Summary: Installed everything on the new board, the fans spin, but would not boot. Tried using one Dimm and resetting the CMOS jumper to 2-3, then to 1-2. Nothing happens. Tried all combination of installing the ram and resetting the CMOS jumper. New board is worst than the old board.
Pros: NONE - I can reuse the NewEgg Shipping box to store some old books
Cons: Purchased this for a simple build for a working C2D E6550 pull. Purchased new ram, ( Kingston Value 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1066 Desktop Memory Model KVR1066D3S8N7K2/4) . Used built-in video card. Installed both ram modules. The fans would spin, but the system would not boot. Looked...
Summary: I'm gonna give it another try. If it still won't work then I will return it and get another board instead. By the way BIOS version is 30b. I went to their website and latest bios update is 28a. Might try to downgrade the bios.
Pros: Newegg rocks!!! Very fast shipping! Inexpensive.
Cons: Everything seems to work fine at first. Installed windows 7 64 bit and then installed drivers. After that, it won't start at all. I'm stuck in the start up repair screen. So I reinstalled windows again and decided not to install the chipset drivers. Everything worked out fine until I updated wind...
