Summary: MSI Big Bang XPower ii board was "Dead on arrival". After calling MSI Canada the tech said it was my equipment that and not the board or "no fault of MSI product". The tech or the sales support personnel ask what like of board was it, I replyed MSI Big Bang XPower ii he asked if it had any video from the CPU I replied with the synonyms that I was faced with "No Post, No Video". dead, dead, dead. Change the memory, video card x2 rebooted in between times.
Summary: Right out of the box this looked like a beautiful MB. It installed easily and felt sturdy. The documentation makes it easy to see where everything connects too, although there are some power points you begin to wonder if they are really needed (Hint...they ARE). I was drooling as I installed this in my wifes system, wishing I had used it on mine instead. I had to have a towel handy so I didnt drool on the board! Then it happened...
This board seems excellent but falls short with regards to functionality

Summary: This board appears to be an excellent board until it is put into service. The board has many bells and whistles for the WIndows user community but falls short when employed as a LINUX server and workstation combination. My PCIx8 SAS controllers failed to function properly and MSI customer support was no help. I was still able to build an excellent workstation and server from the board by loading it up with 64GB RAM and six OCZ SSD drives.
