VERY Rough start....is my board a knock off?

  • Summary: Right out of the box this looked like a beautiful MB. It installed easily and felt sturdy. The documentation makes it easy to see where everything connects too, although there are some power points you begin to wonder if they are really needed (Hint...they ARE). I was drooling as I installed this in my wifes system, wishing I had used it on mine instead. I had to have a towel handy so I didnt drool on the board! Then it happened...

This board seems excellent but falls short with regards to functionality

  • Summary: This board appears to be an excellent board until it is put into service. The board has many bells and whistles for the WIndows user community but falls short when employed as a LINUX server and workstation combination. My PCIx8 SAS controllers failed to function properly and MSI customer support was no help. I was still able to build an excellent workstation and server from the board by loading it up with 64GB RAM and six OCZ SSD drives.
