Summary: Great board but it does have a couple of quirks. Will not pick up bottom expansion slot and USB3 jack at the same time until Operating System is operating. Cannot use IDE board for booting but will fully utilize board under windows. was super easy to install and configure. Seems a waste running under Windows XP 32 bit but runs real smooth.
Purchased for a friends' wife's video editing computer
1 September 2012
Summary: Purchased for a friend to build a new computer for his wife's video editing computer. Her previous computer was a Phenom II X3 and the mother board failed. After researching the replacement motherboards and explaining the difference of DDR2 and DDR3 I talked him into purchasing a whole new system with SSD, this mother board, A8-3870, and 8Gb of DDR3 ram to replace it.
Summary: I went with the MB when I decided to go with the new APUs. I went with a Quad core CPU and over all it is not as fast as my AM3 Quad. I would switch back but I love this MB. It has everything I could want on it, wish I could stick my AM3 chip on it. Great board and you should go with it if building an APU system.
Summary: I just bought this barebone to make a new HTPC. After replacing power suply and case (for a Silverstone), I enjoy all others items. The motherboard is really well done, easy to install easy to plug, easy to set. Everything works fine even on Windows 8. I'm surprise to do not have any trouble. Really happy of my new AMD computer.
Summary: I purchased this to build a HTPC. I was very surprised at the heavy duty construction of the unit. Installed easily, no issues. Running A8-3870 stock with AMD 6770 for crossfire graphics, 8 gigs Patriot G2 1600, 120 SSd, 1 tb 7200 HD and easily useing 430w PS. Running MS Media Ctr now with no issuses and NO MORE DVR FEES! Yeah I still have to rent HD box but saving 15 bucks a month!
