Summary: For those who want the latest bios, don't go to the regular MSI website for the board, it doesn't have the latest (that I could find).
Pros: Fast, easy build. Booted first attempt. Plenty of room between the two 16-lane PCI-E slots. Good build quality, moderate overclocking is simple with Genie. My FX-8350 is running a cool, stable 4.3 GHz on full auto. I haven't bothered to go the manual route yet.
Cons: Still can't run 2 X Gigabyte R9-280x cards in crossfire. Just too much heat--even in my NZXT Phantom PHAN001BLK case with all optional fans possible.
Summary: I got this MB for SLI. It has 1.5 slot separation for the extra space needed to keep the heat off the top video card in my AIR cooled system. It is 10C to 15C cooler that the one slot spacing of the 990FXA-GD80.
Pros: This MB has everything I need. well laid out. 2 X16 slot spaced for keeping 2 vid cards cool.
Summary: Has a lot of additional software to download from the MSI website if you like to manage everything your computer does (like fan speeds). You can even access your BIOS settings from windows (changes require a restart of course). I ended up deleting most of it because it was overwhelming and just felt like clutter.
Pros: Got this on sale with a free stick. It has a very user friendly BIOS. You can even navigate it with your mouse! OC Genie II seems to work well if your looking for a moderate overclock. It bumped my FSB from 200 to 225 on my Phenom II 945 and runs stable.
Cons: The quick connector pins (for USB and front panel header, etc) that come with the board feel cheaply made compared to the rest of the board. I even had a dummy pin just fall out of one like it wasn't even secured in the plastic. Unless you're constantly removing your motherboard I would skip them and just connect your headers straight to the board.
Summary: no issues with the product so far really. only real drawback is if you get a big graphics card or pci-e device you cannot easily access all of my sata connections. got all my parts put together and everything seems to work like a charm.
Summary: Quite pleased with board. Only negatives are the SATA ports face horizontal, so I had to cut into a side facing HDD rack to get access to them; there is no USB 3.0 connector on the mobo, just the 2 ports on the rear panel.
