Great motherboard with minor flaws

Michael B., Newegg
6 March 2016
  • Summary: I would recommend this motherboard to a friend if its on sale. However for the price (129.99) I feel you should choose another motherboard.
  • Pros: I've been using this motherboard for almost 24 hours a day since I got it in December 2014 and it has been working flawlessly. I was worried when I bought it because it didn't say it supported an FX-8350 but thanks to other reviews I took the gamble and it worked fine. I have a stable overclock u...
  • Cons: There is significant VDroop with this motherboard where the CPU Vcore voltage spikes and drops causing minor instability in higher overclocks. Over volting to 1.480 Voltage solved it for the most part. It became apparent when stress testing that you can't overclock an FX-8350 very high with this ...

19 August 2015
  • Summary: like i said I'm about to buy another on of these, well worth the $100
  • Pros: amazing motherboard i haven't found a better one yet. this the mobo in my main pc and the one I'm building now all the others I've tried (7 of them) haven't compared to the ease of this one.
  • Cons: the only thing i have to say about this is the fact there is no usb 3.0 headers, but it still has some in the back so it doesn't bother me so much.

Awesome Motherboard

Irish D., Newegg
13 July 2015
  • Pros: I have been an MSI customer for the longest time. This one never disappoints. Its a bang for the buck.
  • Cons: It could use a USB 3 connector for the board but I'm not complaining since it has built in at the back panel

GR8 Motherboard, but ...

JOSEPH W., Newegg
16 May 2015
  • Summary: I would definitely buy it again to build another system.
  • Pros: Love the motherboard and the multiple expansion slot it has. Works 24/7 as my media server running Windows 7 Pro. Rosewill Blackhawk - Original Case Raidmax 730w Power Supply - Modular AMD FX 8320E 3.2GHz 8-Core / Corsair H60 H20 Cooler AMD MSI 990FXA-GD65V2 Motherboard 32GB 4x8GB Crucial 1600MHz...
  • Cons: Not really a con ... but who puts a chipset or south bridge in the way of a PCIe x1 slot just below the on-board sound ? I would have put my RAID card there but it wouldn't fit. No worries I put my Wireless AC card there instead.

  • Pros: It is a 990FX, has two PCIE 2.0x16, 4 PCIEx1, 1 PCI, 6 SATA III, and lots of usb2 incluidng 2 USB 3. Not problem with post and the UEFI is easy to navigate and inlcudes some hints on what the items are, although some are not too useful. It includes a fast boot for the OS and BIOS and the OC genie...
  • Cons: Considering the price I paid (after rebate -$59) on black friday/week) and that is a 990FX system with 6 SAT III I cannot complain or provide cons.
