Not good for windows ten and can get better one.

  • Summary: Not good enough
  • Pros: It works... This mother is not for anyone who wants to push there computer or for extreme gaming... There are rarely any drivers out for this product and it already seems to be aging not very well. If you were still to get a 990FXA-GD65, then get the gaming version. Not impressed, returned for refund

Matthew R., Newegg
26 June 2015
  • Summary: I upgraded from an 880FX and I am glad I still have it, I much prefer it to this dud I will be using my refund to purchase a GB UD3 and save a couple bucks. *Newegg support is AMAZING!* Love u guys!
  • Pros: Good price point, 990FX chipset, 'Pretty BIOS' look. Good OC controls. That's all I can really say about this board that's good
  • Cons: Died after 3 weeks w/ only *At most* 30 hours of actual use. The M-Flash is a joke, DON'T TRY TO FLASH BIOS EVER AGAIN!!! Horrible support from MSI. Also like others have stated, it has a very poor board design. There are MOSFET heatsink issues, the SB is in the way, VERY odd PCI slot placement a...

Liked it overall, BUT...

Chingiz G., Newegg
11 July 2014
  • Summary: I am afraid that my next motherboard will NOT be all right. I guess, it is based on the timeline that two other customers left their reviews. Both of them were at the end of May this year. So, I believe it is somehow related to the MSI’s production line around that time.
  • Pros: Overall, I like this motherboard. There is a very interesting appearance for BIOS (personally, never seen anything like before). However…
  • Cons: Internal speaker (or buzzer) was not working from the very beginning, right from the start. And I couldn’t have expected that simple component to be defective. By the way, BIOS (v20.3) was doing some interesting stuff: at first, it was very easy to access when you tap delete etc, but then, after ...

x1 PCI-E slot stopped working

Kyle L., Newegg
26 February 2014
  • Pros: Appears to use high quality components. Initial setup was easy, no trouble with RAM or CPU.
  • Cons: x1 PCI-E stopped working just past 30 day refund period. Now I'm not able to utilize 6 GPU cards on the system.

  • Summary: Will be picking a different board. Shame, seems like a good one. Was also $20 cheaper when I purchased it a week or two ago.
  • Pros: Seems to be an all around good board.
  • Cons: Claims to support the latest AM3+ FX type processors, IT DOES NOT! Don't make a noob mistake like I did. I'm in a clan with 1000+ members across many games and someone suggested this board to go with my FX-6350 cpu. I saw advertised everywhere that this board supports the latest FX processors, an...

Poor Support

Michael Z., Newegg
10 July 2013
  • Summary: Be careful of Combo recommendations. I'm now stuck with a less than 100% operational system. This board will Boot/POST a FX-8350, but if you have any issues be wary.
  • Pros: Seems to be a solid board for non Vishera processors. EFI, although slow, is nice.
  • Cons: Limited FX-8350 Compatibility. It is stated that with a BIOS update that it will run a FX-8350. But when power issues started coming up, MSI states that the 8350 is not supported. Newegg states that their combos are just recommended and not guaranteed to be compatible.

  • Summary: Dinged heavily for the NIC failure.
  • Pros: -PCI Express 1x slot placement at the top make them extra useful if you're using both X16 slots.
  • Cons: -Built-in NIC failed within 3 months, so plan to buy a new one. Military class my eye. -No IOMMU support (can't do hardware pass-through of GPU)

Good but Bad

Edwin T., Newegg
1 June 2013
  • Summary: Newegg was awesome with thier customer service and had the replacement sent Next Day for free, they have a customer for life....
  • Pros: Tons of features, nice looking military class design 6 SATA3 connections & USB 3.0, easy to OC & the Bios is set up really nice.
  • Cons: I ordered this board with almost everything for a complete new build got it all put together, started it up & updated all the drivers etc. using the Live Update prog. tried the OC genieII and restarted to nothing, had to clear CMOS to get it to boot up again. wouldn't recognize memory in Dimm slo...

Wow, problems compounding

Edwin B., Newegg
4 January 2012
  • Summary: You get what you pay for and I paid for an open box. Previous MSI hardware has always performed stellar for me and that is why I chose this one. Open box came with no disk and no connectors of any sort.
  • Pros: It looks good. Lots of USB ports. AM3+
  • Cons: The USB ports randomly drop out, usually during boot. I installed the bored into my existing system and though the USB ports were making use of mouse and keyboard during BIOS they just stopped working by the time I got to Windows, while playing games they would randomly activate for other devices...
