Pros: This board is great I love it. There bios is easy to use and can handle so many stress tests I accidentally shorted it out so many times when I first got it because It was my first board I ever had when I made my PC and I've had absolutely no problems with it what so ever except for my error tryi...
Cons: it can hold only 16 GB of ram max. Which already max out all my ram because of my game servers I host and all the multi tasking I do with my computer at the same time. Also another con I found is that the board is discontinued I was going to buy this for a friend I can't buy it now and I've tried...
Summary: I'm switching to Opterons, so won't be using MSI anymore.
Pros: Liked the seven SATA connections. Recognized everything I threw at it. Overclocked my Phenom II 1055 and OCZ3P1333LVAM4GK 4x2GBs to within a hair of 4.0GHz. I got it to 4 for a bit, but it was unstable. Good BIOS, but then I was using Windows and not configuring much.
Summary: At first I was kind of frustrated due to random and frequent crashes. I've been using linux since the late 90s and daily since about 2001 and I've never had so many crashes in all that time put together as I had in the months after I set this system up.
Pros: Very fast system. It boots Fedora 17 in about 9.5 seconds from the time I type in my password to decrypt the file system. It gets through the BIOS and GRUB screens very fast as well. There is a neat little LED display reads out system temp. Stable with the 1.15 BIOS update.
Cons: You may have to flash the BIOS to have a stable linux system.
Pros: Solid Performance with lots of room for upgrades
Cons: Check the specs on the website. This doesn't support all AM2 CPUs. For example the 955 Phenom 2 or higher is not supported. I ran it with a Phenom 2 920 and it ran flawlessly in games and other applications. I wish there were more SATA ports for media center expansion but you can get addon cards ...
Summary: i still dont know what the numbers that light up on the board mean... mine currently says 34? hmm...oh well :)
Pros: what can i say... i have had this for im guessing 2 years now... i have had no problems at all ...nothing..not one single thing has gone wrong or bad or even malfunctioned ... this is my first gaming computer i have built and i am 100% satisfied with it! i bought all my stuff from an electronics ...
Summary: Mine is board revision 1.3 and has a white CPU socket. Popped in an FX-8120, 4x2G 1600 Corsair and it booted right up and took Win 7 64 bit. Rock solid with great performance. Overclocks the 8-core CPU with no issues, as stable as motherboards get.
Pros: 2 card crossfire @ x16, quad @ x8, clean layout, clear CMOS button on back panel, power/reset buttons on motherboard, very nice board with lots of features.
Summary: After I purchased this board I was super worried about the AM3+ support issue that other owners wrote about in other reviews. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the chip worked without a BIOS flash. MSI posted that they had already flashed the new shipments, and indeed they have.
Pros: Arrived on time Worked right out of the box Plenty of room for expansion
Cons: No motherboard standoffs or screws included No screws included for the fire wire and USB header back plates No case badge Now I need a bigger case! Didn't install itself
Summary: After owning this board for two years and two months I just installed the AMD FX 8150 Bulldozer 8 Core CPU. The ability to keep this MOBO current with BIOS updates was truly a selling point for me when I purchased it.
Pros: Upgradability, service life and durability make this board a great buy.
