Super Stable

Joshua H., Newegg
17 June 2015
  • Summary: I'd get another MSI board. The stability is amazing.
  • Pros: Stability. I have never had a mobo related crash, at all. Overclocking was no problem.
  • Cons: The over-clocking software was garbage, and wouldn't let me update and play with it while running Win7. Meh.

  • Summary: Will warp if to much heat is inside the case.
  • Pros: Good price and solid board
  • Cons: Did not like to boot on initial post. it took a long time to get it to recognize a PCI-e Vid card before the first BIOS update.

Nice board but....

Ion P., Newegg
8 May 2012
  • Summary: I would buy again if USB 3.0 wouldn't be an issue.
  • Pros: Everything you need in a mobo...
  • Cons: No USB 3.0....Did try a ton of drivers, one port would eventually work but all devices that were 3.0 were shown with an exclamation sign.Speed was not constant either. RMAed this one, trying MSI with a different board.

Great board

Amanda B., Newegg
14 March 2012
  • Summary: Newegg has been great. Hopefully I can have this problem sorted out since I spend alot on here. Waiting on Newegg or MSI to respond with one of those "we're sorry to hear about that we hope you enjoy your replacement" messages really soon.
  • Pros: Inexpensive. This is a great board in my opinion. Overclocking feature is great for those who wish to use it. Solid state caps for longevity. Two PCI-E x16 for Xfire or SLI. Max 32 GB of RAM if you really feel like you need that. Price/Performance.
  • Cons: I ordered two of these. One for my wife and one for a friend of hers. Her friends board is flawless. My wifes however, came with burnt out USB. Anything plugged into usb constantly gets disconnected and reconnected. I've researched and found this board to be prone to USB problems. I reformated th...

BIOS update

Richard J., Newegg
15 February 2012
  • Summary: After some research i found out this is a common trait for BIOS update on this board.. so beware of the BIOS update. I ok with this no need to RMA not a big deal since i only have to unplug 2 usb devices lol.. Oh i also did a CMOS Reset and didnt help. Does not effect Front panel USB on case.
  • Pros: OC features are slick and easy even for any amateur to operate with a little reading. stays decently cool, great components.
  • Cons: Updated the BIOS from the MSI Live update utility and the Board was working great installing everything before i did the BIOS update. After i updated BIOS to 17.17 the BIOS would hang up on USB controllers and freeze. I had to unplug USB devices and reboot, and it was fine. Just had to plug back ...

Preliminary thoughts

Scott H., Newegg
14 February 2012
  • Summary: There are a few motherboards in this price range with better features, but I am reserving final judgement until I have fully tested and overclocked everything.
  • Pros: This is a nice budget board. I paired this with an FX 4100 and had no booting issues. I got a bundle deal so it was even less than what is listed here. So far it is running just fine, but I haven't done any testing yet.
  • Cons: No USB 3.0 header on the motherboard. It really should be available at this price point. Well, we need some more 3.0 card readers anyway. It would be nice if usb 3.0 was better integrated at this point, especially for thumb drives--which nobody really wants to go fumbling in the back of the case ...

Great Upgrade MoBo

Nick Y., Newegg
24 January 2012
  • Summary: When trying to use the unlock core tech. my computer wouldn't boot. Easy fix though just a change of a Jumper and she was up and running again.
  • Pros: Great Mobo if you're looking for a new Bulldozer chip. Already updated bios so no need for an old processor to update it.
  • Cons: My OC wheel came broken off, kind of disappointing but not really useful/logical.
