Solid

Craig F., Newegg
30 August 2014
  • Summary: Other than the issues with restarting, this has still been a great purchase. I suspect that a lot of the low egg reviews are from people who tried to overclock with this board or had power supplies which probably wouldn't pass jonnyguru tests.
  • Pros: Board has run solid for me for about 3 years. I'm very please with this board and I've used it for about 3 builds for friends/family and none have had any issues.
  • Cons: The only problem I've had with this board (across all 3 computers that I built with it) is that the restart function never seems to work right. If you restart from within Windows or from the BIOS the system will continually restart until you turn it off completely.

Kicks posterior and takes names

Meredith T., Newegg
5 December 2012
  • Summary: This was a great bargain -- cost the same as it would have to replace my previous motherboard, but gave me double the RAM capacity plus compatibility with AM3+. I bought it based on recommendations from this site and am very glad I did.
  • Pros: Fast, stable, and reliable even when infested with cockroaches. (That's not actually a joke. They managed to kill my previous motherboard. Don't ask.)
  • Cons: Extremely minimal install documentation might make this a poor choice for the less tech-savvy.

Bought as replacement

Nightwing, Amazon
22 November 2012
  • Summary: I bought this to replace the motherboard in my son's PC and it has served quite well. It houses what he needs for essential use as well as his occasional gaming. It could support more RAM but 8gb is more than enough and in some cases may be all you need. But opinions vary.

Very nice budget motherboard.

Zach Jensen, Amazon
22 November 2012
  • Summary: Doesn't have all the extra bells and whistles of some other more expensive motherboards, but it works very well for a budget AMD build. Have had it for a few months now with no issues. Would recommend any of MSI's products to anyone, never had a single issue with MSI.
