Intel S3210SH Boards Rock!!

Ebay
10 December 2009
  • Summary: Solid entry-level server board. I build these for NAS, software firewalls, and special-purpose network applications. Board is "forgiving" - non-ECC or ECC memory, any 3000-series s775 CPU (INCLUDING QUAD-CORE). Intel does NOT use its excellent Southbridge to control fan speeds. Instead it uses a ServerWorks chip which is VERY finicky. Unless you are using an Intel chassis your case and CPU fans will run at full speed all the time.

No direct support from INTEL and does not support RAID adapters I tried

E. Reynolds "PMP_Master", Amazon
7 January 2008
  • Summary: This is supposed to be a server class motherboard, but it does not work with the two different RAID adapters I purchased unless you disable the on-Board SATA/RAID, which then makes it not see the SATA DVD and there is no IDE on the board. It also did not see some of the other cards I tried with it. I could not find any live support from INTEL as I am not a "Channel Partner." SO, I will not buy an INTEL board in the future.
