Summary: This motherboard was dead on arrival ! Caused me so many trouble and wasted a week of my time !! After doing everything right , nothing was booting on a new build set up PC ( At least build 200 PCs in the past for friends , family and work related ) , reading after that on forums it seemed that this...
Summary: I hate that I am having to send this back to NewEgg and buy something else. Who knows what I will find this time? I have heard that the DX79TO does work with this CPU. I cannot say until I try it. Intel owes everyone that has had this mess a big apology.
Cons: I can't use this garbage. The first one I got from NewEgg was bad. LEDs were flashing on the Mobo indicating, according to Intel, a dead Mobo. The second one did not do that, but I was unable to get into the BIOS. The reason is that Intel says the BIOS was too old to support the 211 package 3820 ...
Summary: Qualify this review: Returned as it was defective after one day of use. However, I now believe that the processor was also to blame as I went through two additional boards. I had taken the system into a computer store to evaluate if there was other issues as I don't have spare (LGA 2011 CPU, vidoe...
Summary: Overall I have high hopes for this board IF I can get a working one.
Pros: Lots of features and a decent layout for what it is worth. The price isn't to horrible and I like the 7 segment BIOS code display on the board.
Cons: DOA. After connecting everything and turning it on, I see a CPU Overheat light on the board. No video, POST, BIOS beeps or anything. Just the CPU Overheat alarm which makes me turn the computer off immediately. Deciding to check the CPU to make sure it is seated correctly, discover it is burning ...
Summary: I should have accepted the reviews on this page. Do not buy this board since you can only replace it with another if it dies on you.
Pros: Looks nice for what it counts.
Cons: The board failed to accept my DDR3 2400 ram at the true speed. After downclocking the RAM to nearly half the actual speed it finally posted only to provide a blue screen of death almost immediately afterwards. The board now will not boot even to the BIOS and is completely dead.
Summary: Do not buy from Intel. This is not the first time I have had issues with their products and their hands off support.
Pros: Beautiful MOBO with lots of expansion ports
Cons: Does not post - it just does not boot. The board status LED says that the CPU is hot even though it has not started. Upon resetting the board status LED states that the PSU is faulty. I tried a different PSU and still I am unable to boot. I cannot return the item as I bought it 3/31/2012 and trie...
Summary: Seemed Intel chips with an Intel board would be the safest bet for compatibility. This is a bad reason to buy Intel apparently.
Pros: Who knows, might be awesome. At this rate, I'll never know.
Cons: Stock BIOS is incompatible with i7 3820 despite specs. Sent to Intel for BIOS reflashing 3 weeks ago, told today that reflashing apparently involves reflashing new stock (instead of the board I sent them). Now I'm in limbo for at least another month waiting on backorders.
Summary: Worst experience ever. Board would not POST. Turns on for 5 sec then "CPU hot" blinks and shuts off. So I inspected very carefully to see if I've damaged something but there is nothing wrong, then RMA'd. Newegg says there's damage to CPU pins and returns to me, no refund or replacement.
Pros: Lots of features.
Cons: Board would not POST on arrival. Terrible return service.
