Summary: If you can buy this board brand new for about $125 it is a bargain. It might be one of the best 775LGA motherboards you can buy. You need a cooling fan for the Northbridge. It works with most 775 CPU's. Intel makes a very good product. It is a full size ATX. Download the drivers from Intel's website. Try to buy the latest revision of this board. I used it and it worked flawlessly for years until a can of Coke spilled in it.
Summary: Bought this board off mega1comp for $199 + some postage and handling costs, item as described(So you do actually get the full retail box with everything in it from the manufacturer and the retail boxed is Intel sealed.) and works as expected. However no FDD PATA port on the board so if you wanna RAID HDDs on XP(as I am doing now), you'll need to get a USB FDD and install the RAID drivers from there.
Summary: Great motherboard. Super fast. Intel quality and stability. Using this board with and Intel Core 2 Exreme QX9770 3.2ghz and 1600 fsb. Iv'e read other reviews where people had trouble running 4gb of1600 ram. I'm running 8gb (4x2)of Kingston Hyperx Genesis 1600 ram without an issue. One concern. The NB gets hot. Get the recommended 40mm cooling fan to use with the supplied mounting bracket.
Summary: Well, The Board is a qualiti design board from intel, Verry stable iff you know how to setup the bios. For a greater szabillity, use 1997 version of bios upgrade, and disable the watchdog. Watchdog is responsible for board unstabillity. Intel still did not prepare a biso upgrade to resolve the problem.
Summary: Ok, first of all, this mobo is FAST. It can breath new life into a older processor, the secret is the DDR3 RAM setup. Unfortunately, intel did a VERY BAD job on the bios. If you get this board, you will need to first make sure that you are running the lastest BIOS update. Even with the latest bios, I still had problems with USB and keyboards however. Some keyboards just flat out did not want to work with this thing...
Intel DX48BT2 Extreme Series X48 LGA775 Retail Motherboard
PC Scooter, Amazon
25 May 2013
Summary: Since the reviews are a little old here, I felt there should be a update. I have had one of these boards for about 6 months. It is a fantastic motherboard. Purchased direct from a vender here at Amazon, the same as my Intel DX38BT board purchased here at Amazon, no pun intended to this vender. Mine arrived in the original Intel box, sealed static bag, cables, I/O plate, and diagrams. No aging shown. This is the retail version.
Summary: Good seller, who is not to blame for this product. I'm glad Intel is getting out of the mother board business. They are bad at it! They gave up on this one 1/2 way through development 5 years ago. Buy AMD boards with AMD chipset, it just works as intended. Even if you overclock AMD is simple and straight up. QX9750 on this MB with required RAM and latest bios, and still this gives trouble.
Summary: The DX48BT2 is a good motherboard, but lacks drivers for Windows 7 and 8. Drivers can be downloaded for Windows 7, but the board is no longer supported, so future drivers are in question. Otherwise, a good board.
