Intel DP55KG and DP55SB - Two P55s Reviewed

6 April 2010
  • Conclusion: We'll sum up the weaknesses for both boards together, as they are essentially the same. Automated overclocking routines seem to be an increasing trend among the board-makers, but sadly Intel's "Auto-Tune" software failed horribly. With our i7 870 sat at stock and BIOS defaults, we started the Auto-Tune and chose the 1st option of overclocking within Intel’s safe range. The program quickly ran into problems such as application crashes and BSOD’s.

Intel DP55KG

  • Excerpt: It’s no secret that we haven’t exactly had great love for Intel’s motherboards of late. Heck, we once openly wondered why the hell Intel even bothered to make enthusiast boards anymore. Intel’s LGA1156 DP55KG, aka Kingsberg, board doesn’t erase all of our misgivings, but it does make us think that Intel is at least trying rather than phoning it in. Take the SATA-port placement.
  • Pros: Easy-to-understand PCI-E slots and that cool-ass skull.
  • Cons: RAM slots too close to GPU; auto-overclocking underwhelms.

Intel DP55KG P55 Lynnfield Motherboard Review

PC Perspective
27 October 2009
  • Excerpt: Intel's latest Extreme Series offering is the long-awaited DP55KG motherboard that targets enthusiast-level users as well as hardcore gamers looking for a solid board that takes advantage of all the features available with the Lynnfield platform. No other CPU platform this year has created the amount of pandemonium that we've seen from Intel's launch of the LGA 1156 i5 and i7s and their P55 chipset.

Intel DP55KG Extreme Series P55 Motherboard

Benchmark Reviews
4 October 2009
  • Conclusion: Intel motherboards certainly have come a long way in the past few years, particularly in the enthusiast segment. As an Extreme Series product, the Intel DP55KG P55 motherboard arrived in their signature black box, complete with skull-themed graphics and detailed specifications. Product support on Intel's website has also improved, with easy access to product information, technical documents, and software. My only suggestion would be to add a few more photos.
  • Pros: Excellent performance, Six phase power delivery, Overclocker friendly, Abundant connectivity, Low power consumption
  • Cons: PCIe x16 too close to RAM, RAM too close to CPU socket, Some electrolytic capacitors, Price

Intel DP55KG / Core i5 750 / Core i7 870

11 February 2009
  • Conclusion: Intel has impressed us with the new LGA1156 processors. Given their price point with respect to the LGA1366 i7's the new Core i5 750 and Core i7 870 offering up solid performance for the mid-range user, and featuring a number of important improvements such as the integrated PCI-Express controller. The new P55 boards can be cleaned up, and now have more room for feature additions due to the IOH disappearing.

Intel Desktop Board DP55KG

2 August 2012

Intel DP55KG

21 December 2010
  • Pros: Duża liczba gniazd i złącz, Dobra wydajność i stabilność pracy, Obsługa SLI i CrossFire
  • Cons: SLI i CrossFire tylko w trybie x8, Rozłożenie elementów płyty
