Summary: A great buy has all the bells and whistles I purchased this thinking it would fit the case i had but to my suprise again it takes a bigger size btx box that the one i have so again read the fine print i have a board i can't use.the seller fofered to take it back but it would cost me more to send it back than to just keep it for another day great price.
Summary: I bought this board because it was cheap. I shoe horned it into an ATX type case that I layed flat, after gutting the original racks, making my own horizontal BTX case.I bolted the power supply over the front which was previously a side, and I have a BTX motherboard working fine. I put a BTX type II fan cooler over a Pentium D socket type processor on the board. For the $14.99 board it was worth the remodeling of the case.
Summary: Hi, my review on the 955XCS BTX formfactor is quite an experience as far as building and searching for the correct parts, ( hardware, such as 3.0 - 3.02+ fans that fits the motherboard, 3.02 P4 EMT64 technology that I found at [...] refurbished at a reasonable price. I have been through (3) of these same motherboards tyring OS XP Home, XP Meadia Center, and now using the first motherboard that I purchased from Amazon that I was having little dificulties running Win.XP...
Summary: This board shorted out and fried. Specs say it can handle a 500 watt or more power supply and it can't. BTX has a long way to go. Intel... you disappoint me. MY CHIP is fried along with the motherboard. I have a 300-dollar door stop.
Summary: This BTX motherboard is working very good,It is compatible with all components.I love them very much. But one reason We have to pay more money to buy the full BTX Case and Heatsink (Intel Pico BTX Type 2).Because the heatsink go together with CPU socket 775 do not fit on this BTX motherboard. So We have to buy them saparately about $ 40.00 and the full BTX cooler master case $ 200.00.My opinion, If who like to play Computer for fun and do not care about money,This BTX one...
Summary: I purchased this board and it ran well without problems for a year then simply died. All the tricks and tests could not revive it. When searching for help I read of many similar reports of death at around the year old timeframe. Shame as when it worked it was totally stable but I also notice it is no longer issued by Intel so perhaps it was not one of their masterpieces.
Summary: Easy installation and setup. Great MB for people like me who assemble my own computers in my spare time and never had official training. Compatibility is another great plus for intel. And so far not a single crash.
Summary: I have built lots of systems, and have always owned Asus boards in the past, but this board is the best board I've ever owned. It works flawlessly, and the front panel for USB, Firewire, and Audio looks great and works great. Attaches directly to the MB headers, so there is no need to run cables out of the back of the case like all other similar solutions I could find. It also leaves the back ports available if you need them.
