Summary: I chose this board wanting to get experience with the Atom CPU as a modern, power-efficient chip. The Atom is rated at 4 W TDP, but my system ended up drawing 40 W AC. This is because the chipset supporting the Atom is not especially power efficient, and also because of the HD, power supply...
Summary: For $65.00 it was well worth it, but wasted time troubleshooting XP install problems.
Pros: small size, high quality, clear documentation included for pinouts, power LED on board
Cons: original XP or XP SP1 will not install - I had to slipstream SP3 and also did the sata drivers as a precaution. included cables are normal length, if mounting in a small case cables are 4 times the necessary length. no speaker or header for speaker. Driver CD could be better and include some usef...
Summary: Tested it on XP SP2, Vista Ultimate and Windows 7 beta. All work fine although vista is pretty slow (understandably) but i was still surprised at how well it ran.
Pros: Entire system used only 35 watts at full load (including PCI WiFi card). About 25-30W at idle. Plenty of processing power for any normal home use but Graphics intensive tasks. Plays DVD's just fine though so im not sure where the cutoff point is. Costs less to run than a standard 60W lightbulb, i...
Cons: All USB ports quit working after about 2 months. It malfunctioned once before, i reinstalled the controller drivers and everything worked again. but this time it's broken for good, wont recognize any USB devices, not even in BIOS. Now i'm stuck with a board that is essentially useless.
Summary: First of all, this is a nice, small motherboard/CPU combo. I'm happy with it, but it has a few things that I would really like to fix about it. 1. See that fan in the picture? It's not on the CPU like you'd expect. It's on the north bridge.
Summary: in either configuration, once booted board very stable. XP pro Sp3, Vista +sp1, SUSE 11.0, Ubuntu 8.04.1, Zenwalk 5.2 all run with little or no tweeking from livecds. Ubuntu windows install works for 8.04.1. Also as vm under suns virtualbox as does Zen5.2 and SUSE11
Pros: Price, performance (if running IDE only) everything runs well except front USB ports. lowest vista ultimate score 2.8 on graphics with 1gb ram. high cpu usage but stable, even running virtualbox and a varity of linux distros. but shines best under XP pro
Cons: LF94510J.86A.0103.EB.EXE (Intel Bios Flash utility) states the BIOS is not valid (perhaps another vendors) If SATA DVD-RW and IDE HDD used SATA/IDE hangs post Code 5A (needs to be powered on/of upto 20 times to boot, also random mempry errors. USB Header dead, NO BIOS version
Pros: достаточно шустрая мамка
Cons: Встроенное видео на нестандартных азрешениях не работает
