2 OUT OF 3 FAILURE RATE

CHESTER U., Newegg
17 April 2011
  • Summary: First build was perfect and still is with everyday use. Second board setup perfectly, but killed itself after a week. Had to RMA. Third board setup perfectly but killed itself after 4 months. I will not bother with Intel warranty but will consider it a lesson learned.
  • Pros: Great little board if it stays working
  • Cons: The only board that will kill itself just sitting there.

It died after 4 months

Danny F., Newegg
13 January 2011
  • Summary: I chose this originally because for it's potential reliability (no cpu or video fan).
  • Pros: It has pros, but that doesn't matter if the board dies.
  • Cons: It's died after 4 months. No video, putting in a separate video card doesn't work either. I'll have to see if I can get Intel to replace it.

Board Failed, Intel service stinks

Mark S., Newegg
15 September 2010
  • Summary: For a tech company Intel has the least transparent, highest hassle support known to man. I've been at getting a replacement for two weeks and still haven't gotten any indication of when that might happen. If your product fails just buy a new one.
  • Pros: Great concept. When it worked it worked correctly.
  • Cons: Newegg walked away from any responsibility after 30 days. I understand that, its part of the deal. Intel might have the worst customer service in the world

STAY AWAY from this board!!

John S., Newegg
25 August 2010
  • Summary: What is going on here? I purchased 2 of these boards late last year; both are still working just fine. Now I'm trying to build a "Hot Spare" and after THREE attempts, I still cannot get a working motherboard.
  • Pros: I STILL cannot get a working spare!
  • Cons: I just received my 3rd consecutive DOA! There is not a lot to do when testing this board. I tried a different power supply and a different memory DIMM, but still no video. My PCI bios tester displays a code of 2A

Toast In Less Than 3 Months

William F., Newegg
23 July 2010
  • Summary: I'd wait until the Atoms are more mature and hence more robust...read the other reviews, at least three of these have gone stone dead in a matter of days, weeks, or months.
  • Pros: Small, cheap, silent. Accepted Ubuntu 10.04 with no fuss. Ran relatively well while it lasted.
  • Cons: After pressing the reset button once the board failed to boot...not after reinstalling Ubuntu, not after attempting to load a live CD, nothing. Got to BIOS screen at first, but after a few more attempts to boot it wouldn't even get that far. 3 months as a home file server and it crapped out. Disa...
