Gigabyte Z87X Chipset Black Series Socket 1150 Motherboard
4 February 2014
Excerpt: Great motherboard! Overclocks smoothly, nice BIOS, looks fantastic, many features. Just flash the BIOS to F7 when you get it. Mine came with F5. It's a really quick and very simple procedure. Definitely would buy again.
Summary: Got it for 85$ during boxing week. Cant say much for that price. Heavy as hell, very well build. However, DOES NOT WORK when u have 4 sticks of ram. Personaly,i dont care since i only have 2x4gb. But when i did try to use my old 4x2 ddr3 set, the pc would blue scree. Other than that. bios is horribley blue.
Pros: Cheap, Solid, heavy, Loads of usb3
Cons: doesnt work when u have 4 sticks of ram, Bios sux
Summary: I bought this board on sale for $114 with a $30MIR making this board too good to pass up for the price. It has a great lay-out overall for USB2/3 headers, PWM fan headers (with 2 CPU fan headers!), with the enthusiast in mind. Some features like hardware power and reset buttons have become standard but things like the dual BIOS and voltage measuring leads are great for the price segment. Installation was easy and the board feels very solid.
Pros: Excellent Price at the time of purchase, Sturdy build quality, Nice aesthetics, Overall favourable lay-out
Cons: PCI-E slot lay-out and bandwidth allocation, Not entirely a high-end board for it's regular price, NCIX is still shipping REV 1.0 boards with C1 stepping
Summary: Works great so far. Haven't run into any issues. All the ports are nicely placed. Easy to gain access to when you need too. The HS's built onto it don't get in the way of installing the cpu, hs/fan, ram or video card which is nice.
Pros: Lots of usb3, looks good, good placement of connections.
