I do like this motherboard but I don't love this motherboard for ...

Michael, Amazon
10 December 2015
  • Summary: I do like this motherboard but I don't love this motherboard for the simple fact I should have bought a gaming motherboard from the get go! I currently am running 2 cards in SLI but I don't get the benefit like I would with some other boards that are even cheaper this board as stated runs at 8x and...

great board.

ramon d., Newegg
28 August 2015
  • Pros: easy to navigate in bios but in classic mode great overclocking my 17 4790k has been working @ 4.8ghz. can go to 4.9ghz but too hot when stress tested using aida64. noctual d-15 lowers temps about 24-30 idle.
  • Cons: none

Nice Looking...

Luke B., Newegg
24 July 2015
  • Summary: I had them swap one out for me, but it was a battle to get them to advance replace it. After I explained to the guy who barely spoke English that I couldn't be without my computer for two weeks, he finally "asked his boss" and did the advanced replacement.
  • Pros: Nice design, comes in a cool box.
  • Cons: Don't bother contacting Gigabyte for support. They're awful. Also, this thing just won't operate with more than two sticks of RAM installed. I wanted a 32GB machine for video and audio editing but I'm stuck with 16 because that's all it can handle. Gigabyte needs to get this under control.

Great on paper

Anonymous, Newegg
13 November 2014
  • Summary: Very frustrating experience.
  • Pros: Great on paper - USB ports, PCIE slots, SATA ports
  • Cons: Initially obvious a few of the fan headers didn't work, but accepted that. With 6 native SATA ports, I planned on mirroring 6 drives into 3 mirror sets; 1 set with SSD for O/S (Windows 8.1). Data drives on std HDD worked fine, but the SSD's were a nightmare. Nothing in documentation indicated thi...

Sigh... I really tried

Jessie R., Newegg
6 September 2014
  • Summary: I really tried, I fell in love with this board after months of research and I loved the theme. On paper it was the best board on the market at the DOP. I really had high hopes for gigabyte. I'm just ready to throw this board in the trash and go ahead with a z97 board... Very Very Very sad customer.
  • Pros: The board has great features and potential.
  • Cons: The board has not worked since I've received it. Newegg originally denied my return because I had already taken the UPC code off the box and mailed in for a $100 rebate that was being offered (purchase price was $399.49 at the time of purchase.) Gigabyte refused to do any sort of refund, so they ...

Best LGA1150 Board Available

E-Cycle L., Newegg
29 August 2014
  • Summary: This is the only Intel board available with this many features and quality in comparison to previous and newer boards of the same price range. This is about as close as it gets to a perfect board. There is a reason why Gigabyte is so well known and this board is proof.
  • Pros: Quality is on a whole new level with this board. Very sturdy PCB that doesn't crackle like some cheaper boards do. Ability to run a single GPU directly off the CPU is ingenious. Quad SLI capable. A myriad of OC buttons and switches. Ability to switch off PCIe x16 lanes to remove a GPU from the sy...
  • Cons: Running a graphics card in the black slot (Direct to CPU) doesn't improve performance enough to be justified as doing so will also shut off all remaining PCIe x16 slots. BIOS can be quite confusing to those not very tech savvy. PCIe x1 Wi-Fi & Bluetooth card require the included USB internal exte...
