Summary: 8 months or so after using this mother board I had constant crashing(bluescreen). I assumed it was my RAM from reading the dump file. I ran a few memtest86 runs, my ram was fine. Just in case I switched my RAM for a new set, still same problem with crashing.
Pros: Cheap, good price for performance.
Cons: Has many bugs. (for my Motherboard at least)
Summary: This motherboard works exceptionally well. Only two things I have issues with. (1) this isn't the fastest booting motherboard around. (2) this is supposed to have a pci-e express 3.0 but when I install my gtx 780 ti superclocked card it doesn't work; I have to enter the bios and change the setting...
Summary: Google this board's model number and you'll find that it, along with many other Gigabyte boards, has the aforementioned audio error when toggling the monitor power. It's been about a decade since I last purchased a Gigabyte product and now I wish that I'd just gone through the extra hassle of...
Pros: Affordable z87, all around good specs, Hackintosh compatible and easy, and works well with Ubuntu with minimal fuss/configuration. UEFI is OK and gets the job done though I wish it was skinned with less bling and frills; call me old school but I preferred the no frills aesthetic simplicity of a p...
Cons: In my experience with Windows 8 & 8.1 using the integrated/CPU graphics: If A) the monitor isn't powered on before booting up or B) the monitor is turned off and back on again while the computer is running, all audio functions will break and can't be repaired without restart. REALLY ANNOYING! I d...
Summary: The board was a bit larger than I expected and my case didn't have enough places to support the motherboard completely, but this didn't really present a problem.
Pros: - Very sturdy board that does not flex very easily. - Relatively future-proof. I shouldn't have to buy a new motherboard to upgrade my other components for a while to come. - Nifty-looking BIOS, with lots of options.
Summary: Running F7 the board came on. Sadly, nothing newer, and that's been out since January (it's the end of April 2014). Nothing newer even on TW site for Gigabyte. Hopefully I can get Windows to boot reliably, and without waiting for minutes, once I stick with BIOS config.
Pros: Nicely laid-out board. Looks good, SATA ports not on their side - come straight up from the board. Lots of USB3. Well-priced for the features.
Cons: Not UEFI ready. Read another review of higher-end board where boot process takes minutes - yes minutes - and this board does the same thing if you use UEFI settings. Definitely not ready for other than BIOS config.
Summary: Straightforward bios setup. Very detailed and modern. However I would like to say that if you put in RAM that is clocked at 1600mhz you MUST go into the bios and enable XMP. Other wise the MB will downclock your RAM frequency to 1333.3 instead.
Pros: NIce motherboard. Good features. ALOT of usb ports and ALOT of fan headers for cases with built in fans.
Cons: None so far. Very durable...but not a con LOL
