Cannot get this MB to SLI

Nigel D., Newegg
28 February 2015
  • Summary: This Rev 1.1 with BIOS version 18. I've been waiting to hear from Gigabyte, so I will update this in the hope that someone experiencing similar SLI issues can skip some of this frustration. If Gigabyte makes it right, I will update that as well.
  • Pros: With one card, this MB is stable, fast, and lends itself well to a fair amount of OC. The 3D and Advanced BIOS is simple (too simple?). There are plenty of USB 3.0. The SATA 6 GB/s buses work extremely well.
  • Cons: If you plan on going SLI, I would skip this MB altogether. I had this idea when the GTX 770 came out, that since the SLI performance of GTX 770 was superior to a Titan, I would go that direction. It was reinforced when the GTX 970 cards sputtered out of the gate with their memory issues. I opted ...

  • Summary: got the board and mounted my CPU. everthing was great for about 5 minutes. The computer shop I took it to tells me my CPU, RAM, VIDEO card and PSU are all toast because the board was defective. 1200 dollars down the drain. thanks alot is toast now and the board was the cause.

Bad

Russell H., Newegg
26 April 2014
  • Pros: none
  • Cons: I have had nothing but issues with this board and the support has not been there for me. I will not buy anything else from the manufacturer. The PCH temp is very high and only the on board video works.

Avoid This One

Stacy J., Newegg
2 April 2014
  • Pros: Not a one, and that's a first.
  • Cons: I bought this motherboard to build a cpu for my nephew. I've had nothing but trouble with it. It came with bent pens in the USB 3.0 MB socket. I've been unable to even get it to turn on, so given that all the devices hooked to it are in good working order, I can only assume there's an issue with ...

Board Bugs

Paul L., Newegg
25 January 2014
  • Summary: The bios is not very user friendly for overclocking. Very little choices have tool tips explaining what they are for. Even the manual is missing critical information explaining the voltage section.
  • Pros: The board has decent components and is very sturdy compared to other brands.
  • Cons: All previous complaints about the rear USB 3.0 ports are accurate. After my system was up and running they all died on my USB 2.o peripherals. I tried for days to get it to work by tweaking the bios and different drivers. I could get it to recognize my Xbox controller until i got into a game and ...

Unnecessary headache

Daniel B., Newegg
22 January 2014
  • Summary: If this is how I'm going to be treated for bringing my business to gigabyte then I guess I won't make that mistake twice. Won't be shopping with them ever again.
  • Pros: Setup went alright, Iv'e assembled many computers over the years and this board was nothing special. Installed in my case without an issue. Like that this board is designed with builders in mind. BIOS has many option that makes overclocking a breeze.
  • Cons: Driver setup didn't go anywhere near as smoothly as the case installation. Took three tries to get all the drivers installed properly so that windows didn't have a problem with them. On top of the driver issues I also had customer service issues. I sent my rebate in only to have it be declined, t...

Don't need this headache

K. Brennan, Amazon
22 January 2014
  • Summary: I bought this board because it had better reviews then most similar boards and it was a good deal after rebate. Received my board and installation in my case went without issue. The driver installation was a different story. Took three attempts to get windows to work with the drivers properly.

User Review

Ronald G., Newegg
21 January 2014
  • Pros: Board is easy to work with and handles a lot. Fit perfect in my new Cool Master case. Board comes with everything you need to install.
  • Cons: I have received 2 GA-Z77-UD3H -Z77 1155R boards. the first was DOA and the second would only partly boot with 1 stick of ram. I had purchased 4 sticks for a total of 16 gigs and checked it with the compatible memory chart to make sure it would work. G-Skill F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL(2 sticks per package...

Horrible Experience

Dorian B., Newegg
30 December 2013
  • Pros: Inexpensive, many external USB ports, many internal SATA ports
  • Cons: Absolutely nothing has gone right with this motherboard. I bought 32GB of ram to fill this thing up, but only 16GB were readable. So essentially half of the ram controller was toast out of the box. This would have been enough for me to RMA off the bat, but 3 of the memory slot clips on this cheap...

Christopher H., Newegg
21 December 2013
  • Pros: None so far
  • Cons: This is totally not acceptable. I am 100% sure that my components are good included memory sticks. All components work on another mobo very well. Error 51 repeating anytime regardless configuration.
