Bought elsewhere

Zabrien F., Newegg
20 November 2013
  • Summary: this would easily be a five star rating if i was able to use the ram at 1600 however when gigabyte said its my fault for not having a ivy bridge processor, that disappointed me.
  • Pros: Motherboard is solid, great features (for the most part) lots of options for upgradability
  • Cons: I purchased this motherboard a little over a year ago and never noticed that my ram was only running at 1333mhz. when I tried clocking it to 1600 my computer wouldn't POST. I contacted Gigabyte and they replied saying that because I'm using an i5 2500k that I cannot use 1600mhz it must remain at ...

Good board for a couple of months

Raymond W., Newegg
19 September 2013
  • Summary: Ran fine for a while, then just failed after 5 months of use. Wouldn't attempt to POST dead. A month to get a replacement (Gigabyte listed it as "repaired") ...and the replacement is just as dead. So, yeah. My first Gigabyte board and my last.
  • Pros: Decent price/features ratio Good documentation
  • Cons: Poor support Unreliable product

  • Summary: If you but this check all connections right away! I give this 2 eggs due to the connector not working. Had this worked it would have been a solid 5 eggies...
  • Pros: Works and looks good... No complaints with the performance..
  • Cons: After removing my graphics card and switching to the integrated graphics, I find out that I have a bad connector on the board! DVI doen't work! I am using the HDMI and it works fine...

Came with Bent USB 3 Pin

Chris M., Newegg
14 March 2013
  • Summary: Would be an easy 5/5 if the pin wasn't bent. First Gigabyte board I have bought, I usually buy ASUS or MSI, which I've never had a problem with.
  • Pros: Good features, plenty of SATA ports
  • Cons: The board came with a bent USB 3 pin so I can't connect the USB 3 ports on my case's front panel. It's folded over so I'm not sure if it will be fixable with a mechanical pencil or tweezers yet.

Nice but died after 4- 5 weeks

Mark F., Newegg
8 March 2013
  • Summary: Ran great as MC for 4-5 weeks then just died. No lights the PS fan or the CPU fan won't even give a little jerk when switched on or off. Bought a new PS same o same o. No sign of life anywhere on the board. removed the battery and used a paper clip to jump the power pins.
  • Pros: Nice quality seems like a solid board lots of ports.
  • Cons: Died after 4-5 weeks no sign of life of any kind.

Poor support for Linux from Gigabyte

Steve G, Amazon
2 March 2013
  • Summary: I picked out this Gigabyte MB for a NAS box upgrade because of all the on board SATA ports it provided. It installed and booted up fine, but neither Fedora nor Ubuntu Linux are detecting the Atheros Gigabit LAN chip on the MB. LAN is enabled in the BIOS.

Addendum

Mark H., Newegg
16 February 2013
  • Pros: Please see my previous review, "Really Nice Mobo" for pros and more or less comprehensive comments (for my level of hardware expertise, which is not great).
  • Cons: I just started having serious issues with The USB 3.0 ports not recognizing any pointing device. I had noticed some issues with my wireless keyboard (some ancient MSI job I picked up at a garage sale with no disk or manual) not being recognized if it wasn't plugged into one of the 2 legacy USB 2....

Nice but audio pops

Chris R., Newegg
9 February 2013
  • Pros: Nice board, easy build, seems to be fast, worked right away. Was a new build, win 7.
  • Cons: Goofy sata connectors out side of board were a tight fit, but managed to scrunch cables to fit. A couple of days after the 30 day return window, the board developed a problem with the audio. Every time it boots, it makes a loud pop through my computer speakers. I adjusted everthin, and it still d...

Came DOA

Trevor F., Newegg
3 December 2012
  • Pros: Specs are great, it was going to support my i7 ivy 6core with GTX 590 card no problem. I even got a 1200 watt power supply to put in my new computer and i was happy to order the board.
  • Cons: The day I recieved it was 1 day before a competition for one of my games, 2 days later than it was supposed to arrive. The board came DOA and I lost the chance to win $500 in the competition and I had a huge chance of winning it. Now I need to get a replacement quickly for this weekend... Just a ...
