Suprisingly Reliable

Elliot R., Newegg
4 April 2015
  • Summary: I've never had a problem with this board, it always posts reliably and I've successfully run GTX cards in SLI with no issues (aside from the fact that one of them eventually bricked, which was the fault of the card and not the board).
  • Pros: -Decent amount of room for SLI setups, depending on card size -Reliable over the 3 1/2 years I've had it in my machine
  • Cons: None as experienced so far.

Daniel G, Amazon
30 September 2014
  • Summary: I have owned this Mother bored for about 4 years now, it has given me no problems at all, it has even out lived my Television that i have used for a monitor. Rough Run

Russell N., Newegg
18 February 2013
  • Summary: Irritate with gigabyte for lemon board, but their reputation is making me consider buying another one of theirs. I would suggest buying it because it works very well when it works, smooth operation etc.
  • Pros: great support programs for the board, easy to overclock. Looks good. Quick
  • Cons: Work with it for about 1 year and then finally sent it in for warranty. Waiting for it to return now. Their RMA policy sucks - consumer pays to ship there, double box etc ($25 later) and then their average turnaround is 2-3 weeks. So far they seem to thing that the SATA controller is bad.

A little Misleading

james t., Newegg
19 October 2012
  • Pros: Very nice construction and a great board once you get it to work
  • Cons: If you are buying or have an Ivy Bridge chip this boards bios needs to be updated prior to it working. In order to do s o you mus have a sandy bridge 1155 chip on hand to put in and update the bios. I got lucky and my neighbor had one i could use or i would have been stranded the board will not w...

BIOS problems

Brad K., Newegg
14 October 2012
  • Summary: With an SSD drive and a nice i5 Ivy Bridge, this system is FAST. Since fixing the BIOS problem, alll is well.
  • Pros: Works well once you get the BIOS problems figured out. I would have given this board 5 stars except for the BIOS problem.
  • Cons: It took me about 4 hours of extra work to get the BIOS to work. The version sent with the board did NOT recognize my i5 CPU - 22 nm - I had to swap out for an older 1155 CPU (which I fortunately had in my main home system), then flash the BIOS twice (QFlash worked well with my thumb drive), then ...

Great Board with few probs

Aaron C., Newegg
3 September 2012
  • Summary: This was my first PC build and i am very impressed with the firmware and all associated programming from Giga. Looking forward to future builds and cant wait to see what else Giga gas to offer.
  • Pros: Using this in a HAF X RC-942 case, with a CM Hyper 212 Plus CPU Cooler, I5 2500K, 16 GB Corsair Ram, 520 Series Intel 120 GB SSD, and Corsair 850TX Power Supply. Great Board for the year i have had it. Only had a small issue with resetting. Good expandability, firmware, software via Gigabyte. Ver...
  • Cons: DO not use the reset under any circumstances. I hit mine once and had to go through all nine levels of hell, and then back to level 5( i forgot the key hidden behind the third door!!... long story). Had to remove the CMOS Battery, Jumper the CMOS reset and the battery connector at the same time t...

Good Mobo

John B., Newegg
30 August 2012
  • Summary: I filled all 4 memory slots with G.SKILL Ripjaw X series, which are HUGE. I also installed a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, and I was extremely worried there wouldn't be enough room between the fan and the last memory slot. Fears were unfounded. It fit like a glove.
  • Pros: Great board, lots of features. Easy to install. Most importantly, it fits in my old XPS 630i case. Great airflow, but tough to find a board that would fit.
  • Cons: None so far. I have not experienced any of the boot loop issues that others have reported.
