Plagued with issues

Ryan C., Newegg
17 January 2016
  • Summary: I would not recommend this MBU. I found Gigabyte's support and finally got an RMA.
  • Pros: MBU layout is clean and well labeled.
  • Cons: You get one clean bootup. Afterwards boot loops / power cycles without post will persist until the machine is powered off and everything on the MBU is reseated.

DO NOT BUY THIS BOARD!

Abid B., Newegg
23 June 2015
  • Pros: Absolutely none. It's an average board TBH and I bought it for an average setup, shouldn't be complicated right? It was.
  • Cons: If you get this board, you will be stuck in boot loops--I guarantee it. Regardless of what Gigabyte support tells you to do, it will not work. There's a reason this board is rated so low--it wasn't manufactured correctly. When a quality product is manufactured, it is tested before sold to the pub...

Suprisingly Reliable

Elliot R., Newegg
4 April 2015
  • Summary: I've never had a problem with this board, it always posts reliably and I've successfully run GTX cards in SLI with no issues (aside from the fact that one of them eventually bricked, which was the fault of the card and not the board).
  • Pros: -Decent amount of room for SLI setups, depending on card size -Reliable over the 3 1/2 years I've had it in my machine
  • Cons: None as experienced so far.

A Decent Mboard that has been with me for some time.

Daniel G, Amazon
30 September 2014
  • Summary: I have owned this Mother bored for about 4 years now, it has given me no problems at all, it has even out lived my Television that i have used for a monitor. My computer use had been at least six if not more hours per night and its still doing fine, though the boot time may take a little longer than...

Pretty Bad

Stephen S., Newegg
17 January 2014
  • Summary: Very disappointing.
  • Pros: What works, works well.
  • Cons: Top unit had to be replaced, SATA port never worked, rear jack for speakers failed and it has a boot loop if some external drives are plugged in.

User Review

Patrick H., Newegg
13 January 2014
  • Pros: Full featured board. It has a lot of things I like such as an abundance of SATA ports, PCI-E 3.0 support, dual bios, easy headers, lots of USB3.0, etc etc etc. The board runs well when it's running.
  • Cons: I don't even know where to begin. This board just cannot make up its mind what it wants to do. I understand this board is now out of production, and for a very good reason. It doesn't bother me too much that the BIOS isn't a full featured GUI with mouse support, but the menus are really just a pa...

An Honest and Constructive Opinion

Mustafa N., Newegg
2 January 2014
  • Summary: For my next build, Gygabyte products will play no part.
  • Pros: Like many others state here, works great when it's not having the boot/loop/power on/power off issues.
  • Cons: See "Pros" above. Why can't Gygabyte just admit that this board is faulty and stop giving us generic advice how to fix the problem. I can fix the problem---I've had to like hundreds of times---but it's a real drag having to jump through hoops to get my computer to power up/shut down correctly.

My Last Gigabyte Board...

Kimahri Y., Newegg
13 October 2013
  • Summary: Gigabyte used to be one of my favorite motherboard brands - I have been buying their boards for almost a decade now (in my early days I had very bad experiences with Asus and Soyo boards, and Gigabyte always offered stable, feature-rich boards at good price points).
  • Pros: I've owned this board for 2 years now. It's a fairly stable board when it's running - as in when it's not throwing boot loop or refusal to power-on tantrums. Overclockability is great - I originally purchased a Z68XP-UD3 (non-P version) in combination with my Core i5 2500K and the UD3P was able t...
  • Cons: Tons of boot issues. Aside from the widespread boot loop problem posted by everyone else, this board is prone to being stuck at the BIOS screen whenever it's unhappy about something (bad OC settings, new BIOS update... in fact, changing the boot logo using Face Wizard breaks the BIOS most of the ...
