Recent ones no good

Anonymous, Newegg
30 September 2014
  • Summary: I've built 12 computers using this motherboard over the last year or two for research-related use. The first 9 computers went together without a problem and have experienced no problems in service.
  • Pros: Lots of features, has been on the market for some time.
  • Cons: Recently received boards buggy, BSOD all the time for no reason.

Buggy

Clint M., Newegg
1 December 2013
  • Summary: I still trust gigabyte but spending close to 300 on this I'll probably go with something else next time. Why not RMA? 2000 dollar paperweight and I'll wait till it stops booting.
  • Pros: Works and overclocks.
  • Cons: Only two USBs work in the back, the others randomly go out. The bios works but keeps forgetting the settings. You will have to put a fan over the VRMs since it under clock the CPU after a 20 minutes (When Overclocked).

Sleep and reboot problems

Gaspar, Amazon
2 September 2013
  • Summary: There are plenty of forums online reporting this problem and there doesn't seem to be a clear fix anywhere. Anywhere from 10-50% of the time, it won't return from sleep (S3) or reboot properly (Windows 8 64-bit).

Bad Board

Jerry R., Newegg
1 May 2013
  • Pros: 5 year coverage
  • Cons: Unfortunately board went out, lost time, lost money, lost work. This is the second item out of the 2000.00 plus dollars I spent on parts to go out on me in less than a year.

Wont post, old bios

Mark R., Newegg
16 April 2013
  • Summary: Im sure with a supported processor or a bios update this would have been a very nice board. I gave it 2 stars for the price and specs.t
  • Pros: 4x pci-e x16 slots
  • Cons: Make sure to check the processor compatibility list for the LGA 2011 proc you are buying for this board. There is a sticker on the box that says bios F7 or higher. I bought an i7-3820 which is not supported on this board until bios F8. The computer will not post which after researching is common ...

RMA process is horrible

Anonymous, Newegg
14 July 2012
  • Summary: board just started to die component by component. 1st the gigabit port died. then the (and I've never heard of this before) the pins for the power switch died. call up rma department and they argue with you that no mobos have a 5 year warranty then they tell you to just fill out rma form online and...
  • Pros: 4way SLI on an ATX board. Cheap for a 4 way board. 4 way SLI and only requiring 8 slot case. Did i mention 4 way SLI
  • Cons: Didn't last very long.Gigabyte RMA and customer service not very good. There phone lines are so horrible you can't hear/understand them. says you will get response in 2 working days but that is untrue. Warrant starts from day mobo is made. not day you buy it. that's a rather shady way to conduced...

Compact but problematic

J, Amazon
9 May 2014
  • Summary: A nice compact motherboard fitted with plenty for a budget to mid range system. For me this was a perfect system starter given that I want a 2011 build and this is one of the few available at a reasonable price. I am very satisfied with its design, performance and native over-clocking ability.
