Summary: I never really felt like this motherboard was working quite right.... It seems like it should have been faster because I have an Intel Core i7-970 Processor 3.20 GHz 12 MB Cache, 24 GB of RAM and a solid state system drive.
Summary: have owned / RMA'ed 5+ of these boards and still have yet to find one that was fully function/defect free. ended up switching to an ASROCK board out of pure frustration. avoid these at all cost in you need more than 50% of the motherboards "features"
Summary: Bought this board at the end of January 2009. Worked fantastic for 2 years and 11 months. Several upgrades occured for primary hard drive, raid drives (was running both mirror and striped arrays off the board's raid controller) and video card changes. Peachy keen until it broke.
Summary: This is a great motherboard. Very high quality. I am impressed. I bought this motherboard so I could run 3 way SLI (3 gtx 470) and the placement of the PCI Express slot on the bottom is requiring me to get a different case.....just FYI if you are planning to 3 way SLI.............
Summary: I bought two Intel DX580G boards and had horrible problems with them - right from the get go! I was so !@#$ mad, exchanged one, both then had the problem, then I gave up and bought the Gigabyte boards. Wow! They worked right out of the box.
Summary: Well I was looking for a good X58 motherboard for my Core i7 950 cpu and decided to go with this one. It's got a great layout, especially the Sata ports, usb 3.0, Sata 6gb, 6 RAM slots, Dual Lan. Error codes and LEDs also help a great deal. It's very easy to update the BIOS with @Bios utility.
