MOBO dies out just like they said

Darrell G., Newegg
7 July 2015
  • Summary: Buyer Beware!
  • Pros: I loved it a first. I loved all the bells and whistles.
  • Cons: There are two: 1. There is no place to plug a female USB cable. This cable usually comes with cases. 2. THIS IS A BIG ONE. After having this computer for 3 years with no issues--at all. For the first time, I put the computer in sleep mode and it never woke up! I tried everything just like the guy...

2 strikes and I'm out

Donald M., Newegg
28 September 2014
  • Pros: I honestly cannot think of any, primarily because the board NEVER worked for me.
  • Cons: Bought in 2010. Couldn't install until beyond 30 days after receipt so no return possible; IDE connectors and NIC port did not work. Returned to Gigabyte for refurbish. In the meantime bought another mobo since I had no idea how long the refurbish would take. New motherboard (different manufactur...

Reboot loop

Dylan E., Newegg
29 August 2014
  • Summary: If you can find it for cheap, get it. But factor in how long you think that board is going to last.
  • Pros: When it works, this is a pretty decent board. One wish I do have is that it had onboard video to fall back on for when things go wrong. That leads me to the cons section...
  • Cons: This board started fine, but I quickly started getting issues with it. There were times where the computer, after being off for more than a few minutes, would not start properly when powered on. No video, no POST, no anything. Just the sound of the fans spinning down, and entering another boot at...

User Review

Allen C., Newegg
31 July 2013
  • Pros: It had lots of usb ports.
  • Cons: I give this board a big fat goose egg (0), since Newegg doesn't have zero as an option. The board finally burned after a few years of use. Sent my RMA number in and they sent me a replacement 1366 socket board, that one also caught fire. Gigabyte's warramty service is horrible and their products ...

Nice look board but unstable

Huaping H., Newegg
18 February 2013
  • Pros: I was using the board with a 6 core i7 and had the board load with 24 GB of OCZ ripjaws RAM. It was easy to configure, but overtime the 6th DIMM slot (slot #5 in the CMOS) went south causing instability problems until I had to replace and evaluate the RAM in different slots.
  • Cons: Motherboard failed within the warranty period. Now, I have been waiting in the phone queue for 30 minutes waiting for someone at Gigabyte to answer the phone and give me an RMA number. The problem is that I cannot be without my computer for 6 weeks which is my estimate of what the turn around tim...

Good Riddance

Hector P., Newegg
15 September 2012
  • Summary: Early adopters of SATAIII and USB3.0 like me who bought into the 58X Intel chipset got shafted. I will never buy bleeding edge technology like this again until it becomes proven in the market. Presently, Intel X79 LGA 2011 is like the X58 LGA 1366 all over again.
  • Pros: Was good while it lasted, although from the very first setup using up all the components was impossible. It provided me many hours of CompTIA+ equivalent training and inflated my ego for the brief periods I was able to get it to run stable. It is solid proof that sometimes you DO NOT GET what you...
  • Cons: There are too many to list, namely thermal issues, faulty USB3.0 and a SATAIII controller that is out-performed by Intel's SATAII. Once I moved states and a 15 degree difference in ambient temperature later the motherboard became impossible to use without the case side door open. It died once and...

Very unstable-stay away from this board

JunJay T., Newegg
11 September 2012
  • Pros: It runs stable part of the time, enough that I put up with its intermittent crashes for a year and a half because I thought it must have been a driver issue.
  • Cons: The board got more and more unstable over time. Unfortunately when I bought this there weren't as many negative reviews as have occurred in the year since. On the advice of my father, who has an identical cpu (i7-950) but an asus motherboard in a rock solid system, I switched to an Asus motherboa...

WORST Service Ever!!!

philip s., Newegg
6 July 2012
  • Pros: 4 RAM Dimm
  • Cons: Sent Board Back on an RAM June 18 2012 today is July 7 2012. Every Time I have Called they say the technician is looking at it. And push the date up. I asked for an Advanced RMA but they say they have the board and will service it. I am not a Gaming TWIT. This is my work. I have been out of work ...

Flawed design

Jonathan C., Newegg
6 June 2012
  • Summary: From reading the other posts it's looks like it would be useless to contact them for any type of support. My last 3-4 MBs have been Gigabyte but I think I'll check out another brand now. I do remember their support website being horrible to get drivers from.
  • Pros: Board worked great... for about 1.5yrs
  • Cons: Starting showing the same symptoms as the other posters on here. All of the sudden my PC started BSOD, rebooting, loosing the HDD and DVD-ROM drives, until you reboot, throwing memory errors, etc.
