Dreaded reboot loop

Brian H., Newegg
11 March 2013
  • Pros: The cons of the board outweigh the pros so much that it's hard to come up with something.
  • Cons: I constantly get the dreaded reboot loop on this motherboard. Powers on, fan spins up, powers off, 2 seconds later it repeats. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. When I get into this loop I have to unplug the machine and reset the cmos. This seems to clear things up. In my 20 years of buil...

Off to a bad start

Miguel T., Newegg
11 February 2012
  • Summary: Now I am stuck without a computer since I was replacing my old PC with a freshly built one I even had it 2day shipped to make sure it arrived before the weekend now i wont be able to contact anyone at newegg until Monday
  • Pros: None at this point
  • Cons: Did not work straight out of the box, reboot loop right from the start, very disappointed at this time as this was a 200 dollar MoBo, at first I had my worries because of all the negative reviews but a friend of mine has the same board and he loves it so I gave it a try and I guess him and I were...

Boot Loop

Anonymous, Newegg
6 February 2012
  • Summary: Disappointing as this was a $200 plus board when i bought it, and only got 5 months out of it. MSI Z68 still chugging along...
  • Pros: worked good for about 4 months.
  • Cons: Got stuck in the dreaded boot loop cycle. Contacted Gigabyte to have the board replaced, but after reading of many people who paid for shipping, waited 3-4 weeks, and got back the same broken motherboard, I decided to cut my loses and buy an MSI Z68 board instead, couldnt be happier with it.

Boot loop curse!

Daniel R., Newegg
14 January 2012
  • Summary: System specs: Intel core i5 2500K, 4x 4gig LGA 1155 Ripjaws RAM, Thermaltake Frio CPU Cooler, Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 fleX edition, Sound Blaster X-fi Titanium sound card, and Cooler Master HAF 932 case
  • Pros: Board looks sharp and all of my pci express cards plugged in nicely without a hitch.
  • Cons: This was my first build, and upon completion my expectations were high, until I hit the power button. Fans and lights came on and I was thrilled, until 2 seconds later when the unit turned back off, and on again, and off again, and, well, you get the idea. After investing $1.5K on the case and ev...

  • Summary: If they send me back a good board, I will come here and actually give a review, Until then. I can't recommend Gigabyte to any of my customers or friends.
  • Pros: N/A
  • Cons: A worthless paperweight, Doesn't post, Doesn't even make error codes with the speaker i plugged into it. endless restart loop. User Review

Gordon A., Newegg
1 December 2011
  • Summary: Would love to stick with Gigabyte but unless I can get a working MB i'll have to seek out a new manufacturer.
  • Pros: Worked fine for the few months that I had it. Loved the feel of the board and the looks as well.
  • Cons: Unfortunately I am also stuck in a boot loop that I had no idea existed until I started to look online for answers. Going to hopefully RMA this through newegg though from what Ive read there's a chance it will be sent back to me as-is.

Another Boot Loop Board

Jeanne A., Newegg
28 September 2011
  • Summary: Done with Gigabyte unless I get some form of refund. I know it's been 4 months, but this seems to be a common enough problem to be classified as a defect. Very disappointed given that my last Gigabyte board never failed me.
  • Pros: Worked fine for 4 months
  • Cons: After 4 months, encountered the boot loop issue mentioned here. Computer tries to start, and immediately powers off, and then a few seconds later powers on, and then off, and so on. I have swapped out every other component in the machine with my roommates computer and encountered the problem cons...

  • Pros: None
  • Cons: Horrible, board and manufacturer !!!! Board started doing the reset loop that some many complain of, a month after having it. Disappointed in Gigabyte

D. Moyer, Amazon
20 September 2011
  • Summary: I am extremely disappointed in this motherboard. The professional reviews for it are good, but they must test those before sending them to the reviewers. I have returned this board twice for the same reason.
