Summary: Seller shiped it week of Christmas and I got it before the holiday! Was able to spend my day off installing it. Had 3.6TB RAID-0 on Intel ports, but dummy me, I flashed wrong BIOS image onto my old one, was able to wire this new one in and it booted right up, didn't lose a bit or a byte.
Summary: As the title says "My Future PC Project". I can't give real review at this time. Like most men more power the better, but as we all know there is always tomorrow.(if not ,it does not matter) Something will always come around that looks and sounds better to peek my interests. When the project is finished I will try and return to give my views on the experince.
Summary: built system with this board, Core i5 750, and 4 gigs of g.skill ripjaw ddr3-1600(f3-12800cl9d-4GBBRL), xfx 260GTX video and an Antec 300 case. If you have 2 sticks of ram, make sure that you put them in the white slots, not the blue slots. otherwise the machine will not post. it might make you think something is wrong with the board. It tells you this in the manual but i have a bad habit of not reading the manual.
Summary: Great motherboard for the price. I have an Intel Core i7-860 installed with 8 gigs of RAM - I purchased two G.SKILL ECO Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1333. All hardware works as advertised as well as the BIOS/drivers. The graphics card I installed in the PCI Express 2.0 x16 unfortunately covers one of the 2 PCI slots, leaving only one PCI and one PCI Express x16. This motherboard does NOT support nVidia SLI but does support Crossfire.
Summary: Really nice layout for the most part, good amount of space around the processor for aftermarket heatsinks. Nice BIOS upgrade utility, and very easy to overclock. Tons of USB connections, and even has firewire. Using this as a low cost gaming machine, and it rips with a good graphics card. Using this with an i5-760 and G.Skill DDR3 1600 RAM. Running the cpu at 3.8Ghz and memory at 1800Mhz and everything is completely stable, with temps topping out around 59-60C.
