Excellent HTPC board

Todd E., Newegg
20 June 2015
  • Pros: Worked flawlessly out of the box! Has enough SATA ports to support use even in a home server. Easy update of the bios. I used it for both an HTPC and a server build and it endured long periods of up time like a champ!
  • Cons: I can't think of anything that really bothered me with this board.

  • Summary: Wow - I am getting ready to retire this workhorse mobo in about 3 days. Nearly 5 years of intense daily use. Boy, my upgrade-itis has really diminished. I thought I got this 3 years ago.

Good Board

Philip J., Newegg
14 December 2014
  • Pros: This has been a reliable board, never had any problems. I was an ASUS buyer but after a couple bad boards I tried Gigabyte. Will be buying gigabyte again.
  • Cons: Sata connections are in a bad spot. Large video card makes it hard to use two of the sata plugs. I had one break off because of pressure from the end of th PCI card.

Died after 7 years

ELLIOT H., Newegg
25 October 2014
  • Summary: I guess after 7 years of faithful service, it's about time to upgrade anyway. 7 years is ancient in Moore's world.
  • Pros: It worked well while it lasted.
  • Cons: Died after almost 7 years. But this might have not been because of the board, but because of static electricity. I guess I'll never know why it stopped working, but I'm guessing the latter since it was working before I moved houses, and didn't work after I moved. Something must have gone wrong in...

GIGABYTE never fails

Gini P., Newegg
13 September 2013
  • Summary: Because this board has been so good to me, I always choose GIGABYTE boards when building PCs for friends and clients, regardless of the faulty LAN port, which I replaced with an Intel PCI-E x1 Gigabit LAN card. On-board XGA is fine for the average user but 3D performance leaves much to be desired.
  • Pros: -Solid construction -6 SATA 3.0Gb/s ports (5 SATA / 1 eSATA) -CPU support up to AMD Phenom II x4 965 3.4GHz -16GB max. 1066MHz DDR2 RAM -12 USB 2.0 ports (6 rear panel / 6 on-board headers) -PCI-E 2.0 (1 PCI-E x1 / 1 PCI-E x16 / 2 PCI) -1Gb/s on-board Ethernet -6 port on-board HD Audio -1 digital...
  • Cons: LAN port died summer 2011

Still Rocking three years later

Patrick G., Newegg
31 August 2013
  • Summary: A lot of the PC stuff out there fails if you use it heavy, this is not the case with my Gigabyte motherboards, including this one.
  • Pros: Had this as a WHS, on 24/7, then converted to a Windows HTPC, first Windows 7 now 8. Keeps on rocking without flaw. I am a confirmed Gigabyte fan for AMD motherboards.
  • Cons: None
